Thomas Rhett’s Concert Helps Conner Smith Move on from Heartbreak: A Rising Star’s Journey

  • by

Conner Smith has just released his first album called Smoky Mountains. One of the songs from the album, titled "Creek Will Rise," is gaining popularity and is climbing up the country music charts.

Not too far in the past, the up-and-coming talent was simply a regular 16-year-old who attended a concert by one of his beloved country music artists.

During the most recent broadcast of Taste of Country Nights, available for streaming, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that left a lasting impression on him.

At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to see a Thomas Rhett concert. The venue was Ascend Amphitheater, and we had seats on the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man," and at that moment, I wanted to slow dance with my date and create a sweet and romantic atmosphere.

Smith recounts that the following day, his partner decided to end their relationship.

After sharing a laugh, he proceeds with the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett and had a moment where he felt like he had the upper hand, saying, "I suppose I had the final laugh in that situation, if you know what I mean."

Smith has shared this story with the audience during his performances, and it has become a popular choice among them.

Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation in a romantic split.
