Thomas Rhett provided support and assistance to Conner Smith in overcoming the heartbreak caused by his former girlfriend. Smith's first album, titled "Smoky Mountains," has been released and is gaining popularity. One of the tracks from the album, "Creek Will Rise," is rapidly climbing up the charts in the country music genre.
However, not too far in the past, the up-and-coming talent was simply an average sixteen-year-old who attended a concert of one of his beloved country music artists.
During the most recent broadcast of Taste of Country Nights, available On Demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that left a lasting impression on him.
At the age of 16, I had a romantic outing with a girl at a Thomas Rhett concert. The venue was Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated in the lawn section. During the performance, Thomas Rhett played "Die a Happy Man," and I attempted to have a slow dance with her, attempting to be affectionate and romantic.
Smith mentions that the following day, his partner ended their relationship.
After sharing a moment of laughter, he proceeds to narrate the rest of the story. "After about 4 years, I found myself on tour with Rhett. It was a moment where I felt like I had finally triumphed and had the satisfaction of having the final laugh," he reminisces.
Smith has shared this story with the audience multiple times during his performances, and it has become a popular choice among the listeners.
Let's discuss the ultimate satisfaction and sense of justice in a romantic split.
