Conner Smith has just released his first album called Smoky Mountains, which is currently available. One of the songs from the album, titled "Creek Will Rise," is gaining popularity and quickly climbing the country music charts.
However, not too far in the past, this up-and-coming talent was simply an average 16-year-old attending a concert of one of his beloved country music artists.
During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available on-demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016, which greatly affected him.
At the age of 16, I went on a date with a girl to see a Thomas Rhett concert. I can vividly recall that it took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his song "Die a Happy Man," and at that moment, I attempted to slow dance with the girl, aiming to create a romantic atmosphere.
Smith explains that the following day, his girlfriend ended their relationship.
After we have a moment of laughter, he proceeds to tell the rest of the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett and couldn't help but think, "I guess I had the satisfaction of having the final say in that situation," if you understand what I mean."
Smith has shared this story with the audience on multiple occasions and it has become a beloved choice among viewers.
Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation during a separation.
