Conner Smith has recently released his first album titled "Smoky Mountains". One of the songs from the album, called "Creek Will Rise", is gaining popularity and rapidly climbing the country music charts.
However, not too far in the past, the up-and-coming talent was simply an average sixteen-year-old who attended a concert of one of his beloved country music performers.
During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available for On Demand viewing, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that left a significant impression on him.
At the age of 16, I had a memorable experience of going on a date with a girl to a Thomas Rhett concert. The show took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we had seats on the lawn area. Thomas Rhett performed his popular song "Die a Happy Man," and during that moment, I attempted to slow dance with the girl, aiming to create a sweet and romantic atmosphere.
Smith goes on to say that the following day, his partner ended their relationship.
After a moment of laughter, he proceeds with the story. He mentions that around 4 years later, he was on tour with Rhett and he remembers thinking to himself, "I suppose I had the final laugh in that situation, don't you think?"
Smith has recounted this anecdote during his performances on multiple occasions, and it has become a beloved choice among the audience.
Let's discuss the ultimate satisfaction and validation one can experience during a breakup.
