Conner Smith, a new artist, has released his first album called "Smoky Mountains." One of his songs, "Creek Will Rise," is quickly gaining popularity on the country music charts.
However, not too far in the past, the emerging talent was simply an average 16-year-old, attending a live performance of one of his beloved country music singers.
During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, On Demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that had a significant effect on him.
At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to a Thomas Rhett concert. I vividly recall that the concert took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated on the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett performed his popular song "Die a Happy Man," and at that moment, I attempted to slow dance with the girl I was with, wanting to create a sweet and romantic atmosphere.
Smith mentions that the following day, his partner ended their relationship.
We exchange a moment of laughter, after which he proceeds with his story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett and he couldn't help but think, "I suppose I had the final laugh in that situation, you know?"
Smith has recounted this story multiple times during his performances, and it has become a beloved choice among the audience.
Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation during a breakup.
