Morgan Wallen Criticizes Record Release and Drops New Version of ‘Spin You Around

  • by

Morgan Wallen expresses his dissatisfaction with the release of his new song "Spin You Around" and unexpectedly drops a new version of the track. It seems that Wallen had no intention of re-recording or re-releasing the song initially and wasn't particularly keen on the idea.

On Friday, the musician delighted his fans by releasing an acoustic love song. He also took the opportunity to discuss a decision he had to make a decade ago, which ultimately influenced the creation of this

Aside from criticizing the timing of this release, Wallen also criticized the quality of the music.

Associated: Morgan Wallen compiles a lineup of the top 40 songs that have been played the most over the past 50 years.

According to his writing, he mentions that while some songs were satisfactory, the majority of them were quite bad. This was due to his inexperience in writing and the process of figuring it all out. He clarifies that he was not the sole contributor to these songs, so many of them did not align with his own ideas or meet his personal standards.

Morgan Wallen's EP titled "Stand Alone" has gained impressive popularity on Spotify, with almost 400 million streams for its songs. One particular track, the previous version of "Spin You Alone," has reached a remarkable 240 million streams. The EP also features other notable titles such as "Sleep When We're Dead" and "Yin Yang Girl." While the project maintains a country-rock sound, it also incorporates the hip-hop influence that Wallen has become recognized for.

Paul Trust and Sergio Sanchez, who is the lead singer of the rock band Atom Smash, collaborated with Wallen to co-write all 13 songs on this album. Although the songs may not have the same level of intensity as his later recordings, fans will still be able to identify the familiar rhythm in new tracks like "Going Down" and appreciate the soothing melody in songs like "Scared to Live Without You."

During the year 2014, Wallen participated in Season 6 of The Voice. Therefore, the songwriting session that resulted in these songs most likely took place shortly after that, around 18-24 months before he eventually signed with Big Loud Records. Wallen does not refuse the fact that he recorded for Panacea and entered into an artist management agreement.

Regrettably, Wallen clarifies that he agreed to both contracts without the assistance of a lawyer.

"2 of Us Alone" serves as an instance of a song that one may regret. It features a lackluster musical arrangement, and the vocalist's sound has significantly changed by 2024.

Wallen is supported by piano and acoustic guitar on the track "Afterglow," which appears to be aimed at fans of soft rock from the early 2000s. "Man of the South" and "Bonfire Jam," on the other hand, cater to a more mainstream rock audience. If producer Trust were to choose these songs as his lead, it's unlikely that he would receive new projects in Nashville.

Morgan Wallen wants to clarify to his fans that the album that has just been released is not his upcoming project. However, he assures his fans that he will be heading back to the recording studio in February.

He expresses discomfort and embarrassment whenever he hears these songs.

Joey Moi took charge of producing this fresh acoustic rendition of "Spin You Around," and Wallen reveals that he recorded it in Nashville just this week. Additionally, Wallen himself created the cover art for the song.

In order to give back, he has chosen to contribute $100,000 from the Morgan Wallen Foundation to support the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This donation aims to assist young musicians who might face similar challenges.
