Morgan Wallen Criticizes Record Release and Drops New Version of ‘Spin You Around

  • by

Morgan Wallen expresses his disapproval of the record release and surprises fans by dropping a new version of his song "Spin You Around." It seems that he had no intentions of re-recording or re-releasing the track in the first place, and he didn't seem enthusiastic about it either.

The artist released a heartfelt acoustic love song to his fans on Friday and revealed that it was influenced by a choice he had to make a decade ago.

Not only did Wallen criticize the timing of this release, but he also spoke negatively about the music.

Morgan Wallen compiles a list of the 40 songs that have been played the most in the past 50 years.

According to the author, they had a mixed experience with their early writing endeavors. They admit that while some of their work was decent, the majority of it was quite poor. This is understandable as they were still in the process of developing their writing skills and trying to understand the craft. Additionally, the author clarifies that they were not the sole contributor to these songs, so

Morgan Wallen's EP called Stand Alone has gained almost 400 million streams on Spotify. One of the tracks, "Spin You Alone," has been streamed about 240 million times. The EP also includes songs like "Sleep When We're Dead" and "Yin Yang Girl." The project has a country-rock sound, but it still incorporates the hip-hop influence that Wallen has become recognized for.

Paul Trust and Sergio Sanchez, who is the lead singer of the rock band Atom Smash, collaborated with Wallen to co-write all 13 songs on this album. Although the songs may not possess the same level of intensity as Wallen's later recordings, fans will still be able to identify the catchy rhythm in new tracks like "Going Down" and the smooth and relaxed melody in songs like "Scared to Live Without You."

During 2014, Wallen participated in Season 6 of The Voice. Therefore, it is likely that the songwriting session for these songs took place shortly after that, around 18-24 months before he eventually signed with Big Loud Records. Wallen acknowledges that he recorded for Panacea and also entered into an artist management agreement.

Regrettably, Wallen clarifies that he agreed to both agreements without the guidance or assistance of a lawyer.

"2 of Us Alone" is an instance of a song that one might feel remorseful about. It features a weak arrangement that is paired with a vocalist who can hardly be identified in the year 2024.

On "Afterglow," Wallen is accompanied by piano and acoustic guitar, creating a sound that appeals to fans of soft rock from the early 2000s. However, "Man of the South" and "Bonfire Jam" cater more towards a commercial rock audience. If producer Trust were to release these songs, it is unlikely that he would receive new projects in Nashville.

Morgan Wallen shares with his fans that his recently released album is not his upcoming project. However, he assures them that he will be back in the studio in February to start recording for his next project.

He expresses discomfort or embarrassment when he listens to these songs.

Joey Moi took charge of producing the latest acoustic rendition of "Spin You Around," which was given the green light. Wallen reveals that he recorded it in Nashville during the current week, and he also created the artwork for the song's cover.

In order to give back and help others, he has made the choice to contribute $100,000 from the Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This donation aims to assist young musicians who may encounter similar challenges.
