Morgan Wallen Expresses Displeasure with Record Release, Unveils New Version of ‘Spin You Around

  • by

Morgan Wallen expresses his discontent with the release of his new record and unexpectedly drops a revised version of his song "Spin You Around." It appears that Wallen had no intention of re-recording or re-releasing the track.

On Friday, the vocalist delighted his fans by sharing a heartfelt acoustic love song. He also took the opportunity to elaborate on how a choice he made a decade ago ultimately influenced his current situation.

Alongside criticizing the timing of the release, Wallen also expressed negative views about the music.

Associated: Morgan Wallen compiles a catalog of the 40 songs that have been played the most over the past five decades.

According to the writer, a few songs were decent, but the majority of them were awful because they were still in the process of learning how to write and understand the whole concept. The writer clarifies that they were not the only person involved in the creation of these songs, so many of them were not their own ideas and did not meet their standards.

Morgan Wallen's EP titled "Stand Alone" has gained significant popularity on Spotify, with almost 400 million streams. One of the tracks, specifically the original version of "Spin You Alone," has reached 240 million streams. The EP also includes songs like "Sleep When We're Dead" and "Yin Yang Girl." Although the project has a country-rock sound, it still incorporates the hip-hop influence that Wallen has become recognized for.

Paul Trust and Sergio Sanchez, who is the lead singer of the rock band Atom Smash, collaborated with Wallen as co-writers for all 13 songs. Although these songs may not have the same level of impact as his later music recorded a few years later, fans will still be able to identify familiar beats in new songs like "Going Down" and appreciate the soothing melody in tracks such as "Scared to Live Without You."

Wallen participated in Season 6 of The Voice in 2014, which suggests that the songwriting session for these songs probably took place shortly afterward, around 18-24 months before he officially joined Big Loud Records. He does not refute the fact that he recorded for Panacea and entered into an artist management agreement.

Regrettably, Wallen clarifies that he entered into both agreements without the assistance of a lawyer.

"2 of Us Alone" is a prime instance of a regrettable song. It features a lackluster musical arrangement that fails to impress, and the vocalist's current performance is hardly identifiable in 2024.

In "Afterglow," Wallen is supported by piano and acoustic guitar, creating a sound that appeals to fans of soft rock from the early 2000s. On the other hand, "Man of the South" and "Bonfire Jam" seem to cater to a commercial rock audience. If producer Trust chooses to focus on these songs, it is unlikely that he will find new opportunities in Nashville.

Take a listen to Morgan Wallen's song called "Spin You Around". Wallen wants his fans to understand that the album that has just been released is not his upcoming project. However, he assures his fans that he will be going back to the recording studio in February.

He expresses discomfort and embarrassment when he hears these songs.

Joey Moi took charge of producing the latest acoustic rendition of "Spin You Around," which was given the green light. Wallen reveals that he recorded it in Nashville earlier this week and even created the cover art for the song.

In an effort to give back, he has made the decision to contribute $100,000 from the Morgan Wallen Foundation towards the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts initiative. This generous donation aims to assist aspiring musicians who may face similar challenges.
