Morgan Wallen Opens Up About Record Release Controversy and Drops Acoustic Version of ‘Spin You Around

  • by

Morgan Wallen expresses his dissatisfaction with the release of his record and unexpectedly drops a new version of his song "Spin You Around". It appears that Wallen had no intention of re-recording or re-releasing the song initially and may not have been enthusiastic about doing so.

On Friday, the singer delighted his fans by sharing a heartfelt acoustic ballad. He also took the opportunity to explain to his fans that a decision he made a decade ago had ultimately influenced his current

On top of criticizing the timing of this release, Wallen also expressed negative opinions about the music.

Morgan Wallen has compiled a list of the 40 songs that have been played the most over the past 50 years.

According to the author, a few of the songs were decent, but the majority of them were awful because he was still in the process of learning how to write and understand it all. He clarifies that he wasn't the sole contributor, so many of these songs were not his own creations and did not meet his personal standards.

Morgan Wallen's EP titled "Stand Alone" has gained almost 400 million streams on Spotify. One of the tracks, "Spin You Alone," has reached 240 million streams. The EP also includes songs like "Sleep When We're Dead" and "Yin Yang Girl." While the project carries a country-rock sound, it still incorporates the hip-hop influence that Wallen has become recognized for.

Paul Trust and Sergio Sanchez, who is the lead singer of the rock band Atom Smash, have collaborated with Wallen as co-writers for all 13 songs. Although these songs may not possess the same level of intensity as Wallen's later recordings, fans will still be able to identify familiar beats in new tracks such as "Going Down" and appreciate the relaxed melodies found in songs like "Scared to Live Without You."

In 2014, Wallen participated in the sixth season of The Voice. Therefore, the songwriting session that resulted in these songs probably took place shortly after, around 18-24 months before he officially joined Big Loud Records. Wallen acknowledges that he recorded for Panacea and signed a deal for artist management.

Regrettably, Wallen admits that he agreed to both agreements without the guidance or assistance of a lawyer.

"2 of Us Alone" serves as an instance of a song that one may feel remorseful about. The song is accompanied by a lackluster arrangement, and the vocalist's talent has significantly declined by 2024.

Wallen is joined by piano and acoustic guitar on the track "Afterglow," which appears to be aimed at fans of soft rock from the early 2000s. On other songs like "Man of the South" and "Bonfire Jam," the sound leans more towards commercial rock, but if producer Trust were to release these songs as his next project, it's unlikely he would find much work in Nashville.

Morgan Wallen wants to clarify to his fans that the recently released album is not his upcoming project. However, he assures them that he will be returning to the studio in February to record new music.

He admits to feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed while listening to these songs.

Joey Moi took charge of producing this fresh acoustic rendition of "Spin You Around," which was given the green light. Wallen reveals that he recorded it in Nashville earlier this week, while also being the creative mind behind the song's cover artwork.

In a gesture of kindness, he has chosen to give away $100,000 from the Morgan Wallen Foundation to support the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This donation aims to assist young musicians who may face similar challenges.
