Morgan Wallen Slams Record Release, Drops New Version of ‘Spin You Around’ Despite Reluctance

  • by

Morgan Wallen expresses his dissatisfaction with the release of his record and unexpectedly drops a new rendition of his song "Spin You Around." It seems that Wallen had no intention of redoing and reissuing the track, and it appears that he wasn't particularly enthusiastic about it either.

On Friday, the artist released a heartfelt acoustic love song to his fans, revealing that he was compelled to do so due to a choice he made a decade ago.

Apart from criticizing the timing of this release, Wallen also made negative comments about the music.

Related: Morgan Wallen compiles a list of the 40 songs that have been played the most in the past 50 years.

According to the author, a few of the songs were decent, but the majority of them were awful because they were still in the process of learning how to write and understand the concept. The author also mentions that they were not the sole contributor, so many of these songs were not their own concepts and did not meet their personal standards.

The Stand Alone EP by Morgan Wallen has received almost 400 million streams on Spotify. One of the tracks, "Spin You Alone," has been streamed 240 million times in its previous version. The EP also includes songs like "Sleep When We're Dead" and "Yin Yang Girl." While the project has a country-rock style, it still incorporates the hip-hop influence that Wallen has become recognized for.

Paul Trust and Sergio Sanchez, who is the lead singer of the rock band Atom Smash, have collaborated with Wallen as co-writers for all 13 songs. Although these songs may not possess the same level of intensity as Wallen's later recordings, fans will still be able to identify familiar beats in new tracks like "Going Down," as well as appreciate the relaxed and melodic tone in songs like "Scared to Live Without You."

During the year 2014, Wallen participated in Season 6 of The Voice. Therefore, it can be assumed that the songwriting session, which resulted in these songs, took place shortly after his participation in the show, around 18 to 24 months before he eventually signed with Big Loud Records. He does not refute the fact that he recorded for Panacea and also signed an artist management deal.

Regrettably, I entered into both agreements without the assistance of a lawyer, as Wallen clarifies.

"2 of Us Alone" is an instance of a song that one would potentially feel remorseful about. It features a weakly structured musical accompaniment, and the lead singer's current vocal abilities are hardly identifiable compared to how they were in 2024.

Wallen is joined by piano and acoustic guitar on the track "Afterglow," which appears to be aimed at fans of soft rock from the early 2000s. On the other hand, "Man of the South" and "Bonfire Jam" cater to a more mainstream rock audience. If producer Trust were to release this set of songs as his lead, it is unlikely that he would receive new opportunities in Nashville.

Take a moment to tune in to Morgan Wallen's song, "Spin You Around". Wallen wants to clarify to his fans that the album he recently released is not his upcoming project. However, he reassures them that he will be heading back to the studio in February to start recording again.

"He feels embarrassed or uncomfortable when he listens to these songs," he says.

Joey Moi took charge of producing the latest acoustic rendition of "Spin You Around," which was given the green light. Wallen revealed that he recorded the song in Nashville this week and even created the cover art for it.

In order to give back, he has made the decision to contribute $100,000 from the Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This donation aims to assist young musicians who may encounter similar challenges.
