The Underrated Legends: 14 Country Stars Who Deserve More Respect

  • by

There are 14 country stars who should receive more recognition for their talent. Dwight Yoakam was thought to be the most undervalued singer in country music, but then we discovered another iconic country artist with an impressive resume.

Yoakam's batting average at the CMA, ACM, and Grammy Awards is only .081 (3 hits out of 37 attempts), but surprisingly, he has managed to secure three wins. In contrast, the Bellamy Brothers have not been as fortunate in their award endeavors.

This pair has an astonishing record of 0-29 at the three biggest country music award shows. They have received the highest number of nominations in the duo category, yet have never won. David and Howard Bellamy have been greatly ignored to the point that they were not even taken into consideration by the Taste of Country team when compiling a list of deserving artists who are not in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The list consists of 14 artists, and it's important to note that it only includes well-established and respected acts.

We will discuss contemporary country singers who do not receive enough respect at another time.

Included in this list are two extremely talented female solo artists and three famous musical groups. There is also the inclusion of Billy Ray Cyrus, which we understand may cause disagreement. Nevertheless, the facts speak for themselves – it is high time to acknowledge him and his 13 associates with greater admiration.
