Thomas Rhett’s Concert Helped Conner Smith Heal a Broken Heart: The Story of a Rising Star’s Last Laugh

  • by

Conner Smith has recently released his debut album, titled "Smoky Mountains." One of the standout tracks from the album, "Creek Will Rise," is rapidly gaining popularity and climbing up the country music charts.

However, not too far in the past, the up-and-coming talent was simply an average 16-year-old attending a concert of one of his beloved country music performers.

During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available on demand, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 that left a lasting impression on him.

At the age of 16, I had a memorable experience going on a date with a girl to see Thomas Rhett perform live. The concert took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we had seats in the lawn area. One of the songs he played was "Die a Happy Man," and during that moment, I attempted to slow dance with my date, trying to create a romantic and affectionate atmosphere.

Smith further explains that the following day, his girlfriend ended their relationship.

After having a good laugh together, he proceeds to share the rest of the story. He mentions that about four years later, he went on tour with Rhett and realized that he had ultimately ended up having the final victory in that situation.

Smith has shared this story on stage multiple times and it is well-received by the audience.

Let's discuss the ultimate satisfaction and validation one can experience in a breakup.
