Conner Smith, a new artist in the country music scene, has recently released his first album called "Smoky Mountains." One of the tracks from the album, titled "Creek Will Rise," is gaining popularity and climbing the country music charts.
However, not too far in the past, the up-and-coming talent was an average sixteen-year-old who attended a live performance by one of his beloved country music artists.
During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available for streaming, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 which left a lasting impression on him.
At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to see Thomas Rhett perform live. The concert took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we had seats on the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett played his popular song "Die a Happy Man," and I wanted to have a romantic moment with my date by slow dancing with her. I was aiming to create a sweet and intimate atmosphere.
According to Smith, the following day, his partner decided to end their relationship.
After sharing a moment of laughter, he proceeds to tell the story. He mentions that about four years later, he was on tour with Rhett and thought to himself, "I suppose I had the final triumphant moment there," implying that he had the satisfaction of being proven right.
Smith has shared this story with audiences on a few occasions, and it is well-loved by the crowd.
Let's discuss the satisfaction and validation that comes from experiencing the ideal revenge in a romantic breakup.
