Thomas Rhett’s Concert Helps Conner Smith Overcome Heartbreak

  • by

Conner Smith recently released his first album called "Smoky Mountains." One of the songs on the album, titled "Creek Will Rise," is gaining popularity and climbing the charts in the country music genre.

Not too far in the past, the up-and-coming sensation was an ordinary sixteen-year-old attending a live performance by one of his beloved country music artists.

During the most recent episode of Taste of Country Nights, available for streaming, Smith shares a personal anecdote about his experience at a Thomas Rhett concert in 2016 which left a lasting impression on him.

At the age of 16, I had the opportunity to go on a date with a girl to see Thomas Rhett perform. The concert took place at Ascend Amphitheater, and we were seated in the lawn area. During the show, Thomas Rhett played his popular song "Die a Happy Man," and I had the idea of slow dancing with the girl, trying to create a sweet and romantic moment.

Smith further states that the following day, his significant other ended their relationship with him.

After a moment of laughter, he proceeds with the story. "About 4 years later, I'm touring with Rhett and I can't help but think, 'I guess I had the final victory in that situation,' you know?" he remembers.

Smith has shared this story on stage multiple times and it has become a beloved choice among the audience.

Let's discuss the ultimate form of revenge and validation during a breakup.
