There are 14 country stars who we believe should be given more respect. While initially we thought that Dwight Yoakam was the most disrespected singer in country music, we recently discovered another legendary country act whose resume deserves recognition.
Yoakam's batting average at the CMA, ACM, and Grammy Awards is only .081 (3-37), which means he hasn't had much success in these awards. However, he has managed to secure three wins. In comparison, the Bellamy Brothers haven't been as fortunate.
David and Howard Bellamy, as a duo, have had an astounding record of 0-29 at the three major shows in country music. It is remarkable because no other country pair has received more nominations in the duo category, yet they have never won. The Bellamy Brothers have been consistently overlooked to the extent that they were not even considered by the Taste of Country team when compiling a list of deserving artists who are not in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

The following list consists of 14 artists, specifically legacy acts, who we believe deserve more respect.
We will discuss underappreciated modern country singers at another time.
Included in this list are two highly regarded female solo artists and three well-known music groups. Billy Ray Cyrus is also mentioned, which might spark some debate. Nevertheless, the evidence supports the notion that he, along with his 13 colleagues, deserve greater recognition and appreciation.
