Country music fans, both traditional and contemporary, have something to look forward to. On Friday (Jan. 26), a duet version of Glen Campbell's song "Hold on Hope" featuring Eric Church was released.

The unexpected release is included in the upcoming revised edition of Campbell's album "Ghost on the Canvas" from 2011. The album is set to be released on April 19th through Surfdog Records and Big Machine Label Group.

Robert Pollard composed a sincere song in which Church and Campbell take turns singing each of the four verses. The song tells the story of a tired individual's honest contemplation on life, feelings of isolation, and the longing for a brighter future.

Each road is dimly lit and unfurling in a mysterious manner, presenting us with the opportunity we risk in order to constantly strive and reach out for help from an unseen source. Everyone clings onto hope, which happens to be the only thing that keeps me going, as expressed by Campbell and Church accompanied by the gentle strumming of an acoustic guitar.

We are being invited to a final dance, and afterwards, it will be time for us to depart. However, this is the consequence we face when we deceive each other. The subject of the song, who is compared to an animal mother, willingly exposes herself without any cost. In the second verse, they sing about how everyone holds on to hope, which is the only thing keeping them going. The drumbeats intensify as the song progresses.

Included in the album Glen Campbell Duets – Ghost on the Canvas Sessions are songs that Glen Campbell performed in collaboration with various artists such as Dolly Parton, Sting, Daryl Hall, Carole King, and Eric Clapton. One of the tracks on the album is a rendition of "Nothing But the Whole Wide World" performed by Clapton and Campbell, which is currently available.

Campbell, known for his popular songs like "Rhinestone Cowboy," "Gentle on My Mind," and "Southern Nights," passed away on August 8, 2017, at a care facility in Nashville. He had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease, a condition he openly talked about before his death.

At the same time, Church is experiencing success on the country music charts with his latest collaboration with Morgan Wallen, titled "Man Made a Bar." These two popular artists have also decided to collaborate on reviving the physical editions of Field & Stream magazine.
