You have arrived at your destination, which is ngTubeEQ by Wes Audio.
Wes Audio has followed their successful approach of combining analogue processing with digital control and recall in their new product, the ngTubeEQ. This product combines a four-band passive EQ design with a corresponding DAW plug-in.
The device has multiple operating modes – stereo, dual mono, and mid-side. It includes four EQ bands that are based on inductors and cover a frequency range from 22Hz to 28kHz. Each band has 12 frequency points for precise adjustments, and you can choose between Proportional Q or Constant Q modes for different sound-shaping options. The unit also has two gain range options – Moderate (±5dB) and Extended (±15dB). In addition to the four passive bands, each channel of the device has active low- and high-pass filters that can be set to specific frequencies or bypassed completely.
In addition to its EQ functionality, the ngTubeEQ also has saturation options built-in. This is made possible by its dual output design, which includes a valve and a Carnhill transformer. Each channel of the unit has controls for variable THD and Iron Pad, allowing users to add subtle enhancements or more noticeable harmonic coloration. Like other members of the ng family, the unit comes with a plug-in that replicates all of its front panel controls. This allows users to control the unit remotely from a DAW session and save/recall their settings as part of their session.
The Ng Tube EQ is set to be available for shipping in March 2024 and will be priced at $5999€4999.
