Introducing the ngTubeEQ: Wes Audio’s Latest Innovation in Analogue/Digital Hybrid EQ Technology

  • by

You have arrived at your destination, which is the product known as ngTubeEQ

Wes Audio has once again employed their proven method of integrating analogue processing with digital control and recall in their newest product, the ngTubeEQ. This innovative release combines a four-band passive EQ design with a corresponding DAW plug-in.

The device has the ability to function in three different modes: stereo, dual mono, and mid-side. It includes four EQ bands that use inductors and cover a frequency range from 22Hz to 28kHz. Each band has 12 frequency points that can be adjusted precisely, and there are two modes, Proportional Q and Constant Q, for shaping the sound. The unit also has two options for gain ranges, Moderate (±5dB) and Extended (±15dB). In addition to the four passive bands, each channel of the device has active low- and high-pass filters that can either be set to specific frequencies or completely bypassed.

In addition to its equalizer functionality, the ngTubeEQ also has built-in saturation options due to its dual output design that includes both a valve and a Carnhill transformer. Each channel has adjustable THD and Iron Pad controls, which allow for the introduction of subtle enhancements or more noticeable harmonic coloration. Similar to other members of the ng family, the unit comes with a plugin that mimics all of its front panel controls. This allows for remote control from a DAW session and gives users the ability to save and recall their settings within their session.

Information on pricing and availability for the Ng Tube EQ indicates that it will be released and ready for shipment in March 2024. Customers interested in purchasing this product can expect a price of $599
