Wes Audio has once again utilized their successful approach of integrating analog processing with digital control and recall in their newest product, the ngTubeEQ. This innovative release combines a four-band passive EQ design with a corresponding DAW plug-in.

The device has multiple operating modes, including stereo, dual mono, and mid-side. It has four EQ bands that use inductors and cover a frequency range from 22Hz to 28kHz. Each band has 12 frequency points for precise adjustments, and you can choose between Proportional Q or Constant Q modes for different sound-shaping options. The unit also has two gain range options, Moderate (±5dB) or Extended (±15dB). In addition to the EQ bands, each channel has active low- and high-pass filters that can be set to specific frequencies or bypassed completely.

In addition to its EQ functionality, the ngTubeEQ also has built-in saturation options. This is made possible by its dual output design, which includes a valve and a Carnhill transformer. Each channel of the ngTubeEQ has variable THD and Iron Pad controls, allowing users to add subtle or more noticeable harmonic coloration. Like other members of the ng family, the unit comes with a plug-in that replicates all of its front panel controls. This allows users to control the unit remotely from a DAW session and save and recall their settings.

Information about the pricing and availability of the Ng Tube EQ indicates that it will be released and ready for shipment in March 2024. It will be priced at $5999€4999.
