The collaboration between Lainey Wilson and the Black Crowes happened in a very natural way. Chris Robinson, the lead singer of the Black Crowes, happened to meet Lainey Wilson by chance and discovered that she was a fan of their music. This led to them working together on a new song.
On the Black Crowes' latest album, "Happiness Bastards," there is a song titled "Wilted Rose." According to Robinson, he encountered Wilson at a country awards show while on the red carpet. At the 2023 CMT Music Awards, the Black Crowes collaborated with Darius Rucker for a rendition of "She Talks to Angels."
Robinson fondly remembers her as a kind-hearted person who expressed her excitement by saying, "I can't believe it, I've been a fan of the Black Crowes since I was a child."
During a break between interviews, there was a brief moment where producer Jay Joyce approached her and made a request, which she willingly and immediately acted upon.
Joyce was also responsible for producing the last two albums of Wilson. "Wilted Rose" represents the initial occasion where the Black Crowes collaborated with a different vocalist for an album.

Wilson's collaboration with another artist adds to her already established reputation as a highly versatile and influential female artist in the country music genre. Over the past three years, she has worked with a diverse range of musicians including Dolly Parton, Jelly Roll, Cole Swindell, Chase Rice, Hardy, Lauren Alaina, and Darren Criss. Additionally, Wilson contributed a rendition of the Rolling Stones' classic "You Can't Always Get What You Want" for the Stone Cold Country tribute album, dedicated to honoring the iconic band. Furthermore, she showcased her acting skills in the Western drama television series, Yellowstone.
During an interview, Robinson remembers being in Los Angeles after the main part of the record was done. When they heard it, they were amazed and said, "Wow!" They acknowledged the immense talent of the person they're referring to and recognized that she was experiencing a moment of stardom. They expressed their happiness for her and believed that she would continue to achieve great things because she was already on that path.
It is believed that Wilson is currently working on her upcoming album, however, there is no information or songs that have been released from those recording sessions yet. "Wildflowers and Wild Horses" is her latest single from the album called Bell Bottom Country.
