Lainey Wilson's recent collaboration with the Black Crowes happened in a very natural way. According to Chris Robinson, he happened to meet the country singer by coincidence and discovered that she was a fan of their music.
On the Black Crowes' latest album titled "Happiness Bastards," there is a song called "Wilted Rose." According to Robinson in an interview with Loudwire Nights, he had the opportunity to meet Wilson at a country awards show, where they crossed paths on the red carpet. Additionally, at the 2023 CMT Music Awards, the Black Crowes teamed up with Darius Rucker to perform "She Talks to Angels."
Robinson remembers that she was a very kind and affectionate person who expressed her excitement by saying, "I can't believe it, I was a fan of the Black Crowes since my childhood."
During a break between interviews and other activities, the producer, Jay Joyce, approached her and made a request. Without hesitation, she agreed and took immediate action.
Joyce was also responsible for producing Wilson's previous two albums. "Wilted Rose" represents a significant milestone for the Black Crowes as it is the first instance where they collaborated with a different vocalist on an album.
