Lainey Wilson's collaboration with the Black Crowes was a result of a serendipitous encounter. Chris Robinson, the lead singer of the band, happened to meet Lainey Wilson and discovered that she was a fan of their music.
You can find a track titled "Wilted Rose" on the latest album by the Black Crowes, called Happiness Bastards. In an interview with Loudwire Nights, Robinson reveals that he encountered Wilson on the red carpet during a country awards ceremony. The Black Crowes collaborated with Darius Rucker for a live rendition of "She Talks to Angels" at the 2023 CMT Music Awards.
Robinson remembers how kind and endearing she was, expressing her enthusiasm by saying, "I can't believe it, I've been a fan of the Black Crowes since I was young."
During a break between interviews, a request was made by Producer Jay Joyce and she readily complied with it.
Joyce was also responsible for the production of Wilson's previous two albums. "Wilted Rose" represents the first occasion where the Black Crowes have collaborated with a different vocalist for an album.

This collaboration showcases Wilson as one of the most talented and versatile female artists in country music. Over the past three years, she has worked with a diverse range of artists including Dolly Parton, Jelly Roll, Cole Swindell, Chase Rice, Hardy, Lauren Alaina, and Darren Criss. Additionally, she contributed a rendition of the Rolling Stones' "You Can't Always Get What You Want" for the Stone Cold Country tribute album, and she has also made appearances on the Western drama series, Yellowstone.
During an interview, Robinson reminisces about being in Los Angeles during a phase of the record when they came across the music and were amazed by it. They acknowledge the immense talent of the artist and express their joy for her as she experiences her moment of stardom. They believe that she will continue to achieve remarkable things and acknowledge that she is already making significant accomplishments.
It is believed that Wilson is currently working on her upcoming album, but there have been no reports or previews of any details or songs from these recording sessions. Her latest single is called "Wildflowers and Wild Horses" and it is featured on the album Bell Bottom Country.
