Morgan Wallen Opens Up About Record Release and Drops New Version of ‘Spin You Around

  • by

Morgan Wallen expresses his strong disapproval towards the release of his new song "Spin You Around" and unexpectedly drops a new version of it. It appears that Wallen had no intentions of re-recording or re-releasing the song.

On Friday, the singer delighted his fans by sharing a heartfelt acoustic love ballad. He also took the opportunity to explain that his decision from a decade ago ultimately led him to create this song.

Wallen criticized the timing of this release and also expressed negative opinions about the music.

In connection with: Morgan Wallen curates a compilation of the 40 songs that have been played the most over the past five decades.

According to him, a few of the songs were decent, but the majority were awful because he was still in the process of learning how to write and understanding the whole concept. He clarifies that he wasn't the sole contributor to these songs, so many of them were not his original ideas and didn't meet his personal standards.

Morgan Wallen's EP called Stand Alone has gained almost 400 million streams on Spotify, with the initial version of the song "Spin You Alone" reaching 240 million streams. The EP also features tracks like "Sleep When We're Dead" and "Yin Yang Girl." While the project has a country-rock sound, it still incorporates the hip-hop influence that Wallen has become recognized for.

Paul Trust and Sergio Sanchez, who is the lead singer of the rock band Atom Smash, have collaborated with Wallen as co-writers on all 13 songs. Although the music may not possess the same level of intensity as Wallen's later recordings, his fans will still be able to identify familiar rhythms in new tracks like "Going Down" and a relaxed, gentle melody in songs such as "Scared to Live Without You."

During Season 6 of The Voice in 2014, Wallen participated in the competition. Therefore, it can be assumed that the songwriting session for these songs took place shortly after that, around 18-24 months before he eventually signed with Big Loud Records. Wallen confirms that he did record for Panacea and also signed a deal for artist management.

Regrettably, I agreed to both contracts without the guidance or assistance of a lawyer, according to Wallen's explanation.

"2 of Us Alone" serves as a prime example of a song that one would regret. The song is accompanied by a lackluster arrangement, and the vocalist's talent has significantly diminished by 2024.

Wallen is accompanied by piano and acoustic guitar on the track "Afterglow," which appears to be aimed at fans of soft rock from the early 2000s. In other songs like "Man of the South" and "Bonfire Jam," he seems to be targeting a commercial rock audience. If the producer, Trust, chooses to lead with this set of songs, it is unlikely that he will receive new work in Nashville.

Take a listen to Morgan Wallen's song "Spin You Around". Wallen wants his fans to understand that the recently released album is not his upcoming project. However, he assures his fans that he will be back in the studio recording in February.

He expresses discomfort when he hears these songs.

The production of this new acoustic version of "Spin You Around" was led by Joey Moi, and Wallen confirms that he recorded it in Nashville this week. Additionally, Wallen took charge of designing the cover art for the song.

In an effort to give back, he has made the choice to contribute $100,000 from the Morgan Wallen Foundation to support the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This initiative aims to assist young musicians who may encounter similar challenges.
