Morgan Wallen Opens Up About Releasing Acoustic Version of ‘Spin You Around’ and His Regrets

  • by

Morgan Wallen expresses his dissatisfaction with the release of his new record and unexpectedly unveils a revised version of his song "Spin You Around." It appears that Wallen had no intentions of re-recording or reissuing the song and was reluctant about it.

On Friday, the artist released a heartfelt acoustic love song to his fans, revealing that a choice he made a decade ago ultimately influenced his decision to create the song.

Along with criticizing the timing of the release, Wallen also expressed his negative opinion about the music.

In connection: Morgan Wallen compiles a selection of the top 40 songs that have been played the most over the past five decades.

According to the writer, the quality of some songs was decent, but the majority of them were awful because they were still in the early stages of learning how to write. They clarify that they were not the sole contributor to these songs, so many of them did not meet their personal standards and were not their own ideas.

Morgan Wallen's EP, Stand Alone, has garnered almost 400 million streams on Spotify. One of the popular tracks from the EP, "Spin You Alone," has reached 240 million streams. Other notable songs on the EP include "Sleep When We're Dead" and "Yin Yang Girl." The project has a country-rock sound, but it also incorporates the hip-hop influence that Wallen has become recognized for.

Paul Trust and Sergio Sanchez, who is the lead singer of the rock band Atom Smash, collaborated with Wallen as co-writers for all 13 songs on this album. Although the songs may not have the same intensity as Wallen's later recordings, fans will still be able to identify the familiar rhythm in new tracks like "Going Down" and the soothing melody in songs such as "Scared to Live Without You."

During Season 6 of The Voice in 2014, Wallen participated in the competition. Therefore, it is likely that the songwriting session for these songs took place shortly after that, around 18-24 months before he joined Big Loud Records. Wallen does not deny that he recorded for Panacea and signed an artist management deal.

Regrettably, I agreed to both agreements without the assistance of a lawyer, clarifies Wallen.

"2 of Us Alone" is an instance of a song that one might feel remorseful about. It features a lackluster musical arrangement that is accompanied by a vocalist who is hardly identifiable in the year 2024.

Wallen is accompanied by piano and acoustic guitar on the track "Afterglow," which appears to be aimed at the soft rock audience of the early 2000s. In contrast, "Man of the South" and "Bonfire Jam" seem to cater to a commercial rock fanbase. If producer Trust were to release this set of songs, it is unlikely that he would receive new opportunities in Nashville.

Morgan Wallen wants to make it clear to his fans that the album recently released is not his upcoming project. However, he assures them that he will be back in the studio to start recording in February.

He expresses discomfort when he listens to these songs.

Joey Moi took charge of the production for this fresh acoustic rendition of "Spin You Around," which he also gave his seal of approval. Wallen reveals that he recorded it in Nashville this week, and he even designed the cover art for the song.

In an act of kindness, he has chosen to give away $100,000 from the Morgan Wallen Foundation to support the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This contribution aims to assist young musicians who might face similar challenges.
