Morgan Wallen Slams Record Release and Drops New Version of ‘Spin You Around

  • by

Morgan Wallen expresses his dissatisfaction with the release of his record and unexpectedly drops a new rendition of his song "Spin You Around." It appears that Wallen had no intentions of re-recording or re-releasing the track and he seemingly had little desire to do so.

On Friday, the artist delighted his fans by sharing a heartfelt acoustic love song. He took the opportunity to explain that he was compelled to make this decision due to a choice he made a decade ago

Besides criticizing when this release happened, Wallen also criticized the music itself.

In connection: Morgan Wallen creates a compilation of the 40 songs that have been played the most in the past 50 years.

According to the writer, the quality of some songs was acceptable, but the majority of them were awful because they were still in the process of learning how to write and understand the craft in general. Furthermore, the writer clarifies that they were not the sole collaborator, and therefore, many of the songs were not their own ideas and did not meet their personal standards.

Morgan Wallen's Stand Alone EP has been listened to almost 400 million times on Spotify, with the previous version of "Spin You Alone" reaching 240 million streams. The EP also features songs like "Sleep When We're Dead" and "Yin Yang Girl." While the project has a country-rock sound, it still incorporates the hip-hop influence that Wallen has become recognized for.

Paul Trust and Sergio Sanchez, who is the lead singer of the rock band Atom Smash, have co-written all 13 songs with Wallen. Although these songs may not possess the same level of intensity as the ones he would later record, fans will still be able to identify familiar beats in new tracks such as "Going Down" and enjoy the relaxing melodies in songs like "Scared to Live Without You."

During the year 2014, Wallen participated in Season 6 of The Voice. Therefore, it is probable that the songwriting session which resulted in these songs took place shortly after that, around 18 to 24 months before he officially joined Big Loud Records. Wallen does not reject the fact that he recorded for Panacea and entered into an artist management agreement.

Regrettably, Wallen clarifies that he agreed to both contracts without the assistance of a lawyer.

"2 of Us Alone" is an instance of a song that one might feel remorseful about. It features a weak arrangement that doesn't provide much support to the singer, who has significantly changed since 2024 and is hardly recognizable.

Wallen is joined by piano and acoustic guitar on the track "Afterglow," which appears to be aimed at fans of soft rock from the early 2000s. Meanwhile, songs like "Man of the South" and "Bonfire Jam" cater to a commercial rock audience. If producer Trust were to release this collection of songs, it is unlikely that he would receive new work in Nashville.

Morgan Wallen wants to clarify to his fans that the recently released album is not his upcoming project. However, he reassures them that he will be heading back to the studio in February to record new music.

He expresses discomfort or embarrassment when he listens to these songs.

Joey Moi took charge of the production for this fresh and authorized acoustic rendition of the song "Spin You Around." Wallen reveals that he recorded it in Nashville during the current week, and he also created the cover art for the song.

In order to give back, he has made the choice to contribute $100,000 from the Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts initiative. This donation aims to support aspiring musicians who may encounter similar challenges in their careers.
