Morgan Wallen Slams Record Release, Drops New Version of ‘Spin You Around’

  • by

Morgan Wallen has expressed his dissatisfaction with the release of his new song "Spin You Around," and he has unexpectedly dropped a new version of it. It seems that Wallen had no intention of re-recording and re-releasing the song, and he may not have been eager to do so.

On Friday, the vocalist released a heartfelt acoustic love song to his fans, revealing that he was compelled to do so due to a choice he made a decade ago.

Besides criticizing the timing of the release, Wallen also spoke negatively about the music.

In connection to the previous topic, Morgan Wallen has compiled a list of the 40 songs that have been played the most over the past five decades.

According to the author, a few of the songs were satisfactory, but the majority of them were awful because he was still in the process of acquiring writing skills and understanding the craft. He clarifies that he wasn't the sole contributor, so many of the songs did not align with his concept or meet his personal standards.

Morgan Wallen's Stand Alone EP has received almost 400 million streams on Spotify, with the previous version of "Spin You Alone" alone accumulating 240 million streams. The EP also includes tracks like "Sleep When We're Dead" and "Yin Yang Girl." While the project maintains a country-rock sound, it also incorporates the hip-hop influence that Wallen has become recognized for.

Paul Trust and Sergio Sanchez, who is the lead singer of the rock band Atom Smash, collaborated with Wallen as co-writers on all 13 songs. Although these songs may not possess the same level of intensity as Wallen's later music, his fans will still be able to identify familiar beats in new tracks such as "Going Down" and a relaxed melody in songs like "Scared to Live Without You."

During the year 2014, Wallen participated in Season 6 of The Voice. Therefore, it is probable that the songwriting session which resulted in these songs took place shortly after that, around 18 to 24 months before he eventually signed with Big Loud Records. He does not refute the fact that he recorded for Panacea and entered into an artist management agreement.

Regrettably, Wallen clarifies that he entered into both agreements without the guidance or assistance of a lawyer.

"2 of Us Alone" is an instance of a song that one might feel remorseful about. The song is accompanied by a weak arrangement and the vocalist's current identity is hardly recognizable in 2024.

Wallen is joined by piano and acoustic guitar on the track "Afterglow," which appears to be aimed at fans of soft rock from the early 2000s. In addition, the songs "Man of the South" and "Bonfire Jam" seem to cater to a mainstream rock audience. If producer Trust were to release this collection of songs as his lead, it is unlikely that he would receive new projects in Nashville.

Morgan Wallen wants to clarify to his fans that the recently-released album is not his upcoming project. However, he assures them that he will be heading back to the studio in February to start recording for his next project.

The individual expresses discomfort and embarrassment when they hear these particular songs.

Joey Moi was in charge of producing this latest acoustic version of "Spin You Around," which was given the green light. Wallen reveals that he recorded it in Nashville this week and even took care of the song's cover art design.

In order to give back, he has made the decision to contribute $100,000 from the Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This donation aims to support young musicians who may face similar challenges.
