Morgan Wallen Unhappy with Record Release, Drops New Version of ‘Spin You Around

  • by

Morgan Wallen expresses his dissatisfaction with the record release and unexpectedly releases a new version of his song "Spin You Around." It seems that Wallen had no intention of re-recording or re-releasing the track.

On Friday, the musician delighted his fans by releasing a heartfelt acoustic love song. He also took the opportunity to reveal the backstory behind the song, explaining that it was inspired by a significant decision he

Not only did Wallen criticize the timing of the release, but he also spoke negatively about the music.

Morgan Wallen compiles a list of the 40 songs that have been played the most in the past 50 years.

According to his statement, when he was starting out and trying to grasp the art of writing in general, he admits that while a few songs were acceptable, the majority of them were awful. He clarifies that he wasn't the sole contributor, and therefore, many of these songs were not his own concepts and did not meet his personal standards.

Morgan Wallen's EP titled Stand Alone has gained a significant number of streams on Spotify, reaching nearly 400 million. One particular track, "Spin You Alone," has been streamed 240 million times. The EP features other songs such as "Sleep When We're Dead" and "Yin Yang Girl." While the project maintains a country-rock sound, it also incorporates the hip-hop influence that Wallen has become recognized for.

Paul Trust and Sergio Sanchez, who is the lead singer of the rock band Atom Smash, collaborated with Wallen to co-write all 13 songs on the album. Although the songs may not have the same intensity as Wallen's later music, fans will still be able to identify familiar beats in new tracks like "Going Down" and appreciate the gentle, melodic tone in songs like "Scared to Live Without You."

During the year 2014, Wallen participated in Season 6 of The Voice. It is highly probable that the songwriting session, which resulted in these songs, took place shortly after his participation on the show, around 18 to 24 months before he eventually signed with Big Loud Records. Wallen does not refute the fact that he recorded for Panacea and entered into an artist management agreement.

Regrettably, I entered into both agreements without the guidance or assistance of a lawyer, as Wallen clarifies.

"2 of Us Alone" is an instance of a song that one may regret. The song features a weak arrangement and the vocalist's current style is hardly recognizable in 2024.

Wallen is supported by piano and acoustic guitar in the song "Afterglow," which appears to be aimed at fans of soft rock from the early 2000s. On the other hand, "Man of the South" and "Bonfire Jam" cater to a more mainstream rock audience. If producer Trust were to release these songs as his lead, it is doubtful that he would receive new opportunities in Nashville.

Morgan Wallen wants to clarify to his fans that the recently released album is not his upcoming project. However, he assures them that he will be back in the studio in February to start recording again.

He expresses discomfort or embarrassment when he listens to these songs.

Joey Moi took charge of the production of this recently released acoustic version of "Spin You Around," which was given his seal of approval. Wallen reveals that he recorded it in Nashville just this week, and he also took the initiative to design the cover art for the song.

In an act of paying it forward, he has made the decision to contribute $100,000 from the Morgan Wallen Foundation to the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts program. This donation aims to provide assistance to young musicians who may encounter similar challenges.
