These are not unfamiliar items, but rather everyday foods that many people in the U.S. are familiar with and have likely consumed at some point. However, these foods are deemed illegal for sale in stores in other nations.
Gatorade is
The Market Realist website reported that some flavors of the popular sports drink Gatorade contain dyes known as Yellow 5 and Yellow 6, which are prohibited for children in Norway and Austria. In the other countries of the European Union (E.U.), these specific Gatorade varieties are required to have a warning label.
Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is a popular
According to Market Realist, the reason why this guilty pleasure that is beloved by Americans is prohibited in the UK and other British Commonwealth countries is because of the presence of yellow dyes.
Quick and convenient mashed potatoes
Although they cannot compare to the satisfying nature of real mashed potatoes, these alternative versions can still serve their purpose. However, due to the presence of a preservative called BHA, they are not available for sale in the UK and Japan as reported by the Eat This website.
Kellogg's is a well-known brand.
Frosted Flakes are widely loved and considered great, except in the UK, Europe, and Japan where they are prohibited. Market Realist reports that this ban is due to the presence of BHT, a preservative found in these cereals as well as in cosmetics and rubber items.
The brand known
Eating snacks that seem harmless can be acceptable, except for Swiss Cake Rolls. In certain European Union countries, they are either prohibited or come with strong cautionary labels. The primary concern, as stated by Market Realist, is that these cake rolls contain food dyes that are considered harmful to children, such as Yellow 5 and Red 40. Additionally, restrictions or bans may be imposed due to the presence of palm oil in these snacks.
Skittles are
Austria, Sweden, and Norway have prohibited the sale of Skittles due to the presence of Yellow 5 and Yellow 6 dye, as mentioned previously. In the remaining European Union countries, Skittles are allowed but must be sold with a warning label.

According to information from Eat This, the United States is one of the few countries that still permits the use of growth hormones, such as ractopamine, in the farming practices of raising pigs for meat.
