Underrated Legends: 14 Country Stars Who Deserve More Respect

  • by

There are 14 country stars who are not given the recognition they deserve. While many may think Dwight Yoakam is the most disrespected singer in country music, we have discovered another legendary country act whose accomplishments are often overlooked.

Yoakam's batting average at the CMA, ACM, and Grammy Awards is only .081, which means he has only been successful in three out of 37 attempts. Despite this low average, he has managed to win three times. The Bellamy Brothers, on the other hand, have not been as fortunate

The Bellamy Brothers, David and Howard Bellamy, have an astonishing record of 0-29 at the three biggest music award shows. Despite being nominated numerous times in the duo category, they have never won. Their lack of recognition is such that the Taste of Country team did not even include them in their list of deserving artists who are not in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

We will reserve the discussion about contemporary country singers who are not given proper respect for another occasion.

Included in this list are two incredibly talented female solo artists and three well-known music groups. Additionally, Billy Ray Cyrus is also mentioned, which may cause some disagreement. Nevertheless, the evidence strongly suggests that he, along with his 13 companions, deserves to be acknowledged and respected.
