Take advantage of a massive discount of 95% on Universal Audio's Electronic Music Bundle. The Crow Hill Company is offering a guitar sample library called Shimmer Guitar for free. This is the fourth instrument to be released in their complimentary Vaults series.
Christian Henson created The Crow Hill Company, which is known for its work with Spitfire Audio. The Vaults series, which is available for free, is a project that might be familiar to those who are familiar with Christian's work. Recently, the company released Shimmer Guitar, the fourth instrument in the Vaults series, also available for free.
Currently, the Vault offers a total of four instruments that can be accessed for free. These instruments include Attic Grand, R+D Strings, Celestatone, and Shimmer Guitar.
All of these instruments, as well as previous releases from Spitfire Audio, share a common feature, which is their unique personality or character.
The uniqueness of the character often stems from the instrument being a distinct model, having a specific age, being recorded in a particular location, or any combination of these factors.
Shimmer guitar is created by using an old and well-preserved musical instrument, a classic amplifier, and the renowned recording studios of a globally acclaimed orchestra.
The guitar used for recording was a Gibson Les Paul with a hollow-body design, even though it was not initially intended. The initial plan was to buy a vintage second-hand guitar on the recording day, but instead, a Kay semi-hollow-body electric guitar was acquired.
Although it had initially appeared to be a good choice, the Kay had to be replaced with the Les Paul due to certain technical problems. The Les Paul served as a suitable replacement and was deemed more
The sound recording occurred at Lyndhurst Hall, located in AIR Studios in London. In order to capture the true essence of the sound, the Les Paul guitar was paired with an old-fashioned Supro tube amplifier.
The Supro amplifier did not have any built-in effects, however, three Marshall stacks equipped with delay effects were placed on the higher level of the venue to create the desired atmosphere.
Similar to the instruments found in other Vaults, the Shimmer Guitar features six macros. These macros consist of two larger central controls and four smaller ones located below them.
There are two primary controls called Filter (low-pass) and Shimmer. Additionally, there are Drive (British-style dirt), Mod (flange), Echo, and Splosh controls. By adjusting Echo and Splosh, you can apply reverb before the delay effect.
The essence of shimmer is what connects and harmonizes all elements. When a perfect combination of soil, atmosphere, surroundings, and precision is achieved, the result is truly remarkable in terms of its sound.
I am enjoying the variety of instruments available in the Vault at the moment, and I anticipate that there will be even more unique and delightful additions, similar to the LABS collection by Spitfire Audio.
If you haven't explored any content from Vaults yet, begin by listening to Attic Piano and then move on to Shimmer Guitar – these are delightful small gifts that you can enjoy for free!
Take a look at this offer: The Shimmer Guitar is available for free to all members of the Crow Hill Company, as part of the Vaults plugins.

Is LABS no longer in existence?

In response to the current inquiry, it appears that the subject in question is no longer alive.
It has been 7 months since the previous release of LABS, which used to happen on a monthly basis. LABS was primarily managed by Christian, and after his departure, it seemed to lose momentum and come to a halt.

I don't believe there will be any new LABS released, unless Henson decides to come back to Spitfire Audio. However, I'm glad that he is carrying on the tradition of LABS with Vaults. It seems to have a similar appearance and functionality to LABS, and it appears that there will be many more patches available for it in the future.

Oh no! My sinister scheme to initiate a rebellion using the comment section of a website has been foiled again. Impressive tactics, sir. Impressive… *sound of thunder in the distance*

I'm curious about the reason behind the removal of my comment discussing Christian's transphobia. My intention was not to be offensive, but rather to educate others about the person they choose to support.
Sorry, but
Serious musicians prioritize the quality of their plugins and instruments over their origin. They are more concerned about their professional commitments and financial responsibilities. They do not have the luxury of time to be preoccupied with the opinions and personal lives of others.

Hello Łukasz, the article is about a virtual instrument that is available for free. Any comments that are not related to music production, such as those about politics or other unrelated topics, will be removed. This is because these types of discussions tend to become heated, and I do not want that on BPB. There are plenty of other platforms where these topics can be discussed. My goal for BPB is to be a space where people can learn about music, engage in music-related discussions with other music enthusiasts, and escape the toxicity that is often found on the internet. Thank you.
