Save 95% on the Electronic Music Bundle offered by Universal Audio. The Crow Hill Company has recently launched Shimmer Guitar, a guitar sample library that is part of their FREE Vaults series.
The Crow Hill Company is a company founded by Christian Henson. If you are familiar with Christian's previous work with Spitfire Audio, you will find the free Vaults series from The Crow Hill Company to be similar. Recently, the company has introduced Shimmer Guitar, which is the fourth instrument in their FREE Vaults series.
Currently, the Vault offers four instruments that are available for free: Attic Grand, R+D Strings, Celestatone, and Shimmer Guitar.
All of these instruments, including previous Spitfire Audio releases, share a common feature, which is their unique personality or character.
The uniqueness of the character of the instrument usually arises from factors such as its specific model, a particular age, the recording location, or a combination of these elements.
The Shimmer guitar is created by combining a guitar that has been aged over time, an old-fashioned amplifier, and the utilization of one of the most renowned recording studios for orchestral music in the world.
The instrument used for recording was a Gibson Les Paul guitar, which had a hollow body. However, this was not the initial intention. The original idea was to buy a vintage guitar that was previously owned, but instead, a Kay semi-hollow-body electric guitar was acquired on the day of the recording.
Although it may have seemed promising, due to certain technical difficulties, the Kay had to be exchanged for the Les Paul, which was a suitable alternative.
The sound recording was done at Lyndhurst Hall in AIR Studios located in London. In order to accurately capture the essence of the sound, a vintage Supro tube amp was used alongside the Les Paul.
The Supro amplifier did not have any built-in effects, however, there were three Marshall amplifiers stacked on top of each other on the upper level of the hall. These Marshall amplifiers were equipped with delay effects to create
Similar to the other instruments in the Vaults collection, the Shimmer Guitar features six macros. These macros consist of two prominent central controls, as well as four smaller controls located below them
The main controls of this device are Filter, which is used for reducing high frequencies, and Shimmer. Additionally, there are controls for Drive (providing a British-style distorted sound), Mod (creating a flanging effect), Echo, and Splosh. By adjusting the settings, you can choose whether the reverb or delay effect comes first in the signal chain.
Shimmer is the enchantment that connects all elements harmoniously, and when you combine the perfect mixture of earthiness, spaciousness, ambience, and clarity, the resulting sound is truly remarkable.
I am enjoying the instruments available in the Vault at the moment, and I anticipate the addition of more unique and delightful options, similar to Spitfire Audio's LABS collection.
If you haven't explored any content from Vaults yet, I suggest beginning with Attic Piano and gradually moving on to Shimmer Guitar. These are delightful free resources that you shouldn't miss out on!
Take a look at the special offer: The Shimmer Guitar is available for free for all members of the Crow Hill Company as part of the Vaults plugins package.

Has LABS ceased to exist?
A
In response to the specific inquiry, it appears that the object in question is lifeless.
It has been 7 months since the last LABS release, which used to happen on a monthly basis. LABS was primarily managed by Christian, and it seems that without his presence, the project lost its momentum.
Soroosh
I don't think there will be any new releases for LABS, unless Henson decides to come back to Spitfire Audio. However, I'm glad that he is carrying on the LABS tradition with Vaults. It has a similar appearance and functionality to LABS, and it seems like there will be plenty of new patches for it in the future.

We apologize,
Oh no! My cunning scheme to incite a revolution using the comment section of a website has been foiled once again. You have outsmarted me, sir. Impressive move indeed… *sound of thunder in the distance*

I'm curious as to why my comment about Christian being a transphobe was removed. I didn't say anything offensive, I just wanted to provide information to others about who they are choosing to support.
Sorry, but
True musicians prioritize the quality of their plugins and instruments over their origin. They are more concerned about their own work and responsibilities, such as their jobs and bills. They do not have the luxury of time to be concerned with the opinions and personal lives of others.

Hello Łukasz, the article is about a virtual instrument that is available for free. Please refrain from making any comments about politics, including gender politics, or any other topics that are not related to music production. These types of discussions often become heated, and I do not want to allow that on BPB. There are plenty of other places on the internet where these topics can be discussed. My goal for BPB is to create a space where people, including myself, can learn about music, engage in music-related discussions with fellow music lovers, and find some respite from the negativity that is so prevalent online. Thank you.
