For a limited time, you can purchase SubLab by Future Audio Workshop for only $10. NUSofting has recently launched a beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth for Windows, which is available for free until the end of March.
The Glitch Pad public beta is currently accessible for 64-bit Windows users in both VST2 and VST3 formats.
NUSofting usually offers their plugins for both Windows and Mac users when they are fully released, meaning Mac users will likely have the opportunity to participate when version 1.0 is released.
The history of the plugin can be traced back many years to the year 2002 when the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch was first introduced.
Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently reworked the initial algorithm and developed a superior oscillator, leading to the creation of a new VST synthesizer.
The developer has created a new version of the software using C++ programming language. This early beta version can be downloaded from the developer's website, which is provided as a link below.
The beta version is completely operational and contains a total of 23 pre-set options.
Downloading the plugin created by Luigi is made incredibly convenient as it can be done with just one click. There is no need to log in or provide any personal information in order to obtain the Zip file.
A video on YouTube has been released as an unofficial demo for the Glitch Pad, giving viewers a taste of its unique and nostalgic sound.
The synthesizer is perfectly suited for genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.
The preset names suggest the different styles of music, such as dream-like echoes, swinging echoes, hazy voices, slow choir, and washed-out choir.
When you first look at the interface for Glitch Pad, there is a significant amount of information to absorb.
There is some room for improvement in the visual presentation and layout of the content. However, considering that it is a free beta version, it is reasonable to have limited expectations.
Towards the lower end of the user interface, there is a keyboard and a pre-set selector. Just above that, you will find a graphical depiction of the waveform.
According to the plugin's interface, users will be able to take part in the beta for a period of two months, with the expiration date set for the end of March 2024.
It is uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be available for purchase or released as free software after the beta testing phase. NUSofting has previously released both paid and free products, so the outcome for Glitch Pad remains unknown.
NUSofting is currently offering discounts on some of their synthesizers. If you enjoy the sound of their products, it would be worth considering exploring their other offerings.
It is unclear if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period is over.

"Make sure to mention in the title that this plugin is specifically designed for Windows." Oh, you've already done that. Thank you, but unfortunately, it's too late. The complaints from Apple users in the comment section have now become a well-known joke within the BPB community.

Similarly to the arrogance displayed by some Windows users, there are also individuals who exhibit a superiority complex towards Mac users. However, it is important to acknowledge that those who claim to be indifferent or uninterested in the operating system debate are often Windows users themselves, and this sentiment is evident in the comments section as well.

This is an amusing little thing. It has some interesting concepts, such as the way the pitch envelope functions. It would greatly improve if it had a low-frequency oscillator (LFO) for each destination and more shapes, including some unconventional ones, to enhance the randomization. Since it is currently in beta, it is possible that these features are already being developed, but in the event that they are not, just a suggestion! 😀

The sounds produced by Glitch Pad are impressive! Luigi, the developer at Nusofting, has not received the recognition he deserves. His work is remarkable!

That's great! But let me go on a little rant here. I really miss the feature called rewire! I believe that if rewire was still available, these beginner-level digital audio workstations (DAWs) would be much more practical. They would be able to easily work alongside the DAWs we currently use. It's unbelievable to me that as technology advances, we still haven't found a proper replacement for something as useful as rewire. Sure, there are alternatives like ableton link or a blutcat plugin, but rewire allowed us to send and receive MIDI and audio directly from the DAW without any issues or latency, while keeping everything in sync.
