Get 95% OFF Universal Audio’s Electronic Music Bundle and Discover The FREE Shimmer Guitar Sample Library by The Crow Hill Company

  • by

Universal Audio is offering a huge discount of 95% on their Electronic Music Bundle. The Crow Hill Company has recently launched Shimmer Guitar, a guitar sample library that is available for free. This release marks the fourth installment in the FREE Vaults series by The Crow Hill Company.

Christian Henson is the founder of The Crow Hill Company. If you are familiar with Christian's previous work with Spitfire Audio, you will find the free Vaults series to be similar in style. Recently, the company introduced Shimmer Guitar, which is the fourth instrument in the FREE Vaults series.

Currently, there are a total of four instruments available for free in the Vault. These instruments are known as Attic Grand, R+D Strings, Celestatone, and Shimmer Guitar.

All of these instruments, including previous releases from Spitfire Audio, share a common feature, which is their unique and individual personality or character.

The uniqueness of the character often stems from the instrument being a distinct model, having a specific age, being recorded in a particular location, or a combination of these factors.

The shimmer guitar is created by using an old but well-preserved musical instrument, a classic amplifier, and the renowned recording studios of a famous orchestra.

The guitar used for the recording was a Gibson Les Paul with a hollow-body design, although it was not initially intended. The original intention was to buy a vintage guitar on the same day of the recording, and ultimately a Kay semi-hollow-body electric guitar was chosen.

Although it may have initially seemed promising, the Kay had to be exchanged for the Les Paul due to various technical difficulties. The Les Paul proved to be a suitable and satisfactory alternative.

The sound recording occurred at AIR Studios, specifically in Lyndhurst Hall in London. In order to effectively capture the essence and unique qualities of the sound, a vintage Supro tube amp was used in conjunction with the Les Paul.

The Supro amplifier did not have any built-in effects, however, three Marshall stacks were strategically placed on the upper level of the hall, equipped with delay effects, to create the desired atmosphere.

Similar to the instruments in other Vaults, the Shimmer Guitar is equipped with six macros. These macros include two main controls positioned in the center, as well as four smaller controls located

The main controls of this device are Filter, which is a low-pass filter, and Shimmer. Additionally, there are Drive, Mod, Echo, and Splosh controls. Drive adds a British-style dirt effect, Mod is for flanging, Echo is for echo effects, and Splosh is another effect. You also have the option to reverse the Echo and Splosh controls, which means you can have

Shimmer is the enchanting element that unifies all aspects, and when you combine the perfect mixture of earthiness, spaciousness, atmosphere, and crispness, the sound becomes truly remarkable.

I am enjoying the instruments in the Vault at the moment, and I anticipate the addition of more unique and delightful options, similar to Spitfire Audio's LABS collection.

If you haven't explored any content from Vaults yet, I recommend beginning with Attic Piano and progressing towards Shimmer Guitar. These are delightful little gifts that are available for free.

Take a look at this offer: The Shimmer Guitar is available for free to all members of the Crow Hill Company, as part of the Vaults plugins package.

Has LABS ceased to exist?

In response to the question at hand, it appears that the subject in question is no longer alive.

It has been seven months since the latest release of LABS, which used to occur on a monthly basis. LABS was primarily led by Christian, and without his presence, it seems to have lost its momentum and ceased functioning.

I don't think there will be any new LABS released, unless Henson decides to come back to Spitfire Audio. However, I'm glad that he is carrying on the tradition of LABS with Vaults. It has a similar look and feel to LABS, and it seems like there will be a lot more patches released for it in the future.

Oh no! My cunning strategy of inciting a revolution through the comments section of a website has been foiled yet again. You have outsmarted me, sir. Impressive move indeed… *the sound of thunder can be heard in the distance*

I'm curious as to why you removed my comment regarding Christian being transphobic. I didn't say anything offensive; I simply wanted to raise awareness about who people are choosing to support.

Sorry, I

Genuine musicians prioritize the quality of their plugins and instruments rather than their origin. They are occupied with their professional commitments and financial responsibilities. They don't have the luxury of time to concern themselves with the opinions and personal affairs of others.

Hello Łukasz, in this article, we will be discussing a free virtual instrument. Please note that any comments regarding politics, including gender politics, and other unrelated topics to music production will be removed. These types of discussions often lead to heated debates, which I do not want on BPB. There are plenty of other platforms where such conversations can take place. My intention for BPB is to create a space where people, including myself, can learn about music, engage in music-related discussions with fellow music enthusiasts, and escape the negativity that is prevalent on the internet. Thank you.
