The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible for 64-bit Windows in both VST2 and VST3 formats.
When NUSofting releases their plugins, they usually make them available for both Windows and Mac users. Therefore, Mac users will likely have the opportunity to use the plugins when version 1.0 is released.
The roots of the plugin can be traced back to the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch, which was first introduced in 2002, marking its existence for several decades.
Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently modified the initial algorithm and created an enhanced oscillator, leading to the development of a brand new VST synthesizer.
The latest edition has been developed using C++ programming language and can be accessed in an early beta version through the developer's website, provided in the link below.
The beta version is completely operational and consists of 23 pre-set options.
Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by making it a one-click action. Users do not need to log in or provide any personal information to obtain the Zip file.
A video on YouTube has been released which features a preliminary version of the Glitch Pad, demonstrating its unique and nostalgic sound.
The synthesizer would fit perfectly in genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.
The preset names give hints about the different styles, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir.
When you first look at the Glitch Pad interface, there is a lot of information and features to absorb.
In terms of appearance and arrangement, there are some areas that could be enhanced. However, considering it is a free beta version, one should not have excessively high expectations.
Towards the lower part of the interface, there is a keyboard and a preset selector. Positioned above that, there is a graphical representation of the waveform.
According to the plugin's interface, users are given a two-month window to take part in the beta version. The beta version will expire by the end of March 2024.
It is uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be offered as a paid product or released as freeware after the beta testing phase. This ambiguity arises because NUSofting has previously released both paid and free versions of their software.
NUSofting is currently offering discounts on some of their synthesizers. If you enjoy the sound of their products, it might be worth exploring their other releases.
It is not known if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period is over.

This is an interesting and amusing device. It has some good features, such as the way the pitch envelope works. It would be even better if it had a low-frequency oscillator (LFO) for each of the destinations, and perhaps more shapes including some unconventional ones for more diverse randomization. Since it is still in the beta stage, it is possible that these improvements are already being worked on. However, if they are not, it would be great to see them implemented in the future.

That's great! However, I have a little rant. I really miss Rewire! I believe that if Rewire still existed, these "intro DAWs" would be much more beneficial as they could seamlessly work with our existing setups. It's astonishing that as technology advances, something as useful as Rewire is no longer available and hasn't been adequately replaced yet. Sure, there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, but Rewire allowed for direct MIDI and audio transmission between DAWs without any problems or latency, while keeping everything in sync.
