For a limited period, you can purchase SubLab by Future Audio Workshop for just $10. NUSofting has recently made their Glitch Pad Synth Beta available for free on Windows. This experimental synthesizer plugin, called Glitch Pad, is currently in its public beta phase and will remain free until the end of March.
The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible in both VST2 and VST3 formats specifically designed for 64-bit Windows operating systems.
Usually, when NUSofting releases a new plugin, they make it available for both Windows and Mac operating systems. Therefore, Mac users can expect to have access to the plugin once it reaches version 1.0.
The origins of the plugin can be traced back to the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch, which was released in 2002 and has been around for several decades.
The creator of NUSofting, Luigi, has recently reworked the initial formula and created a better oscillator, leading to the development of a new VST synthesizer.
The developer's website, linked below, offers an early beta version of the new edition, which has been programmed in C++ from the ground up.
The beta version is completely operational and comes with 23 preconfigured options.
Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by making it a one-click operation. Users are not required to login or provide any personal information to obtain the Zip file.
A video on YouTube features an unauthorised demonstration of the Glitch Pad, highlighting its unique and nostalgic sound.
The synthesizer would be well-suited for genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.
The preset names suggest different styles, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir.
When you first look at the Glitch Pad interface, there is a lot of information to absorb.
In terms of appearance and design, there is potential for enhancement. However, considering that it is a free beta version, one should not have excessively high expectations.
Towards the lower part of the interface, there is a keyboard and a preset selector. Above these elements, you will find a visual depiction of the waveform.
According to the interface of the plugin, users will be able to participate in the beta testing for a period of two months, until the expiration date in March 2024.
It is uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be released as a paid product or as freeware after the beta phase. NUSofting has previously released both paid and free versions of their products, so the future pricing model remains unclear.
NUSofting is currently offering discounts on some of their synthesizers. If you enjoy the sound of their products, it would be worth exploring their other releases.
It is unclear whether the synth will continue to be available without charge once the beta period comes to an end.

"You should mention in the title that this plugin is exclusively for Windows"… oh, you've already done that. I appreciate it, but unfortunately, it's too late now. People complaining about it not being compatible with Apple devices in the comments has become a running joke on BPB.

Similar to the arrogance displayed by Windows users, there is a certain group of people who consider themselves superior and uninterested in the discussion about operating systems. However, it is quite evident that these individuals are predominantly Windows users and can be found expressing their opinions in the comments section.

This thing is quite amusing. It has some interesting concepts, such as the functioning of the pitch envelope. It would greatly improve if it had a separate LFO for each destination, as well as a wider range of shapes, including some unconventional ones, for better randomization. Maybe these suggestions are already being addressed since it's in beta, but in case they're not, it would be great to see them implemented.

The sounds produced by Glitch Pad are truly impressive! Luigi, the developer behind Nusofting, has never received the recognition he deserves. His work is outstanding!

Wow, it's great! But I have a little rant to make. I really miss the feature called "rewire". I believe that if "rewire" was still available, these beginner digital audio workstations (DAWs) would be even more helpful because they could easily work alongside the DAWs we already use. It's unbelievable that as technology advances, such a useful feature is no longer available and hasn't been properly replaced yet. Sure, there are options like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, but "rewire" allowed for seamless transmission and reception of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW without any issues or latency, while keeping everything in sync.
The combination of the
