For a limited time, you can purchase Future Audio Workshop's SubLab for only $10. NUSofting has recently launched a beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth for Windows, which is available to the public for free until the end of March.
The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible for 64-bit Windows in VST2 and VST3 formats.
NUSofting usually offers their plugins for both Windows and Mac platforms, so Mac users can expect to be able to use the plugins once version 1.0 is released.
The origins of the plugin can be traced back many years to the release of the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch in 2002.
Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently reworked the initial algorithm and developed an enhanced oscillator, leading to the creation of a brand-new VST synthesizer.
The latest edition of the software is developed using C++ programming language and can be accessed in its initial beta version through the developer's website, the link to which is provided below.
The beta version of the release is completely operational and consists of 23 pre-determined settings
Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by making it just a one-click action. There is no need to log in or provide any personal information in order to obtain the Zip file.
A unique and nostalgic sound of the Glitch Pad has been showcased in an unofficial demo video available on YouTube.
The synthesizer would be a perfect fit for genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.
The preset names give a hint about the different styles, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir.
At first glance, the interface of Glitch Pad appears to be overwhelming with a lot of information to absorb.
In terms of appearance and design, there is some potential for enhancement, but considering that it is a free beta version, it is understandable that there are limitations.
The interface includes a keyboard and a preset selector at the bottom. Above that, there is a visual display of the waveform.
According to the information provided on the plugin's interface, users will be able to participate in the beta for a period of two months. The beta version is set to expire by the end of March 2024.
It is uncertain if the Glitch Pad will be available for purchase or released as free software after the beta testing phase. NUSofting has previously offered both paid and free versions of their products.
NUSofting is offering discounts on several of their synthesizers at the moment. If you enjoy the sound of their products, it would be worth exploring their other releases.
It is unclear whether the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period is over.

"You should indicate in the title that this plugin is exclusively for Windows"… oh, you've already done that. I appreciate it, but unfortunately, it's already too late. The complaints from Apple users in the comment section have now become a well-known meme on BPB.

There is a similar level of snobbery among Windows users. Although I personally do not use a Mac, it is clear that the majority of people who claim to be indifferent towards the operating system debate are Windows users. Their presence can be seen in the comments section as well.

This is an interesting and enjoyable product. One of its positive aspects is the way the pitch envelope functions. However, it would greatly improve if it had a Low-Frequency Oscillator (LFO) for each of the destinations, as well as additional shapes, including quirky ones, to enhance the randomization feature. It is possible that these suggestions are already being considered during the beta phase, but just in case they are not, it would be great to see them implemented.

The Glitch Pad has the ability to produce impressive sounds! Luigi, the developer from Nusofting, has not received enough recognition for his work. It is truly remarkable!

Wow, that's great! But let me go on a little rant here. I really miss the functionality of Rewire. I believe that if Rewire was still available, it would greatly enhance the usability of these "intro DAWs" by seamlessly integrating with the DAWs we already use. It's crazy to think that as technology advances, such a useful feature has disappeared and hasn't been adequately replaced yet. Sure, there are options like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, but Rewire allowed for the direct sending and receiving of MIDI and audio from the DAW without any issues or latency, while keeping everything in sync.
