Get Future Audio Workshop’s SubLab for $10 and NUSofting Releases Free Glitch Pad Synth Beta: Limited Time Offers

  • by

For a limited time, you can purchase SubLab from Future Audio Workshop for only $10. NUSofting has recently launched a beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth for Windows, which is available to the public for free until the end of March.

The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible in VST2 and VST3 formats specifically designed for 64-bit Windows operating systems.

NUSofting usually releases their plugins in both Windows and Mac versions, which means Mac users will likely have the opportunity to benefit from them when version 1.0 is released.

The origins of the plugin can be traced back to a patch called Glitch Pad SynC Modular, which was released in 2002 and has been around for several decades.

Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently revamped the original algorithm and developed a better oscillator, leading to the creation of a new VST synthesizer.

The latest edition of the software is written in C++ from the ground up and can be accessed in its initial beta stage on the developer's website, which is provided as a link below.

The beta version is completely operational and comes with 23 pre-set options.

Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by making it a one-click procedure. Users do not need to provide any login credentials or personal information to obtain the Zip file.

A distinct, nostalgic sound of the Glitch Pad can be experienced through an unofficial demo available on YouTube.

The synthesizer would be a perfect fit for genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.

The names of the presets like echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir give a hint of the different styles that are represented in them.

At first sight, the interface for Glitch Pad may seem overwhelming with an abundance of information to absorb.

In terms of appearance and design, there is some potential for enhancement. However, since it is a free beta version, it is reasonable to have limited expectations.

Located at the lower section of the interface, there is a keyboard and a selector for pre-set options. Positioned above these elements, there is a graphical representation of the waveform.

According to the plugin's interface, users will be able to take part in the beta for a period of two months, until the expiration date in March 2024.

It remains uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be offered as a paid product or be released as freeware after the beta phase. This ambiguity arises from the fact that NUSofting has previously released both paid and free versions of their products.

NUSofting is currently offering discounts on some of their synthesizers. If you enjoy the sound of these synths, it would be worth exploring their other products.

It is unclear if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period is over.

"Make sure to mention in the title that this plugin is exclusively for Windows"… oh, you already did that. I appreciate it, but it's a bit late now. The apple gremlins complaining in the comments have become a popular joke within the BPB community.

I find it interesting how there are people who act snobby about using Windows. Even though I personally don't use Mac, it's clear that the majority of individuals who claim to be uninterested in discussions about operating systems are actually Windows users. And they can be seen expressing their opinions in the comments section as well.

This is an interesting and entertaining item. It has some good concepts, such as the functionality of the pitch envelope. It would greatly improve if it had a low-frequency oscillator (LFO) for each destination and more diverse shapes, including some unusual ones for better randomness. Since it is in beta, it is possible that these improvements are already being developed. However, if they are not, it would be great to see them added in the future.

Glitch Pad has the ability to produce impressive and unique sounds! Luigi, the developer at Nusofting, has not received enough recognition for his talents. His work is truly remarkable!

Wow, it's great! But I have to vent a bit here – I really miss Rewire! I believe that if Rewire were still available, these "intro DAWs" would be much more helpful as they could easily complement the DAWs we already use. It's unbelievable that such a useful tool is no longer available as technology advances, and there hasn't been a proper replacement yet. Sure, there are options like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, but Rewire allowed for seamless sending and receiving of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW, without any issues or latency, while keeping everything in sync.
