Get Future Audio Workshop’s SubLab for $10 and NUSofting Releases Free Glitch Pad Synth Beta: Limited Time Offers

  • by

For a limited time, you can purchase Future Audio Workshop's SubLab for only $10. NUSofting has recently released a beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth for Windows, which is available to the public for free until the end of March.

The public beta version of Glitch Pad is presently accessible in VST2 and VST3 formats specifically designed for 64-bit Windows operating systems.

NUSofting usually releases their plugins for both Windows and Mac operating systems. Therefore, Mac users can expect to have access to the plugins when the 1.0 version is released.

The origins of the plugin can be traced back many years to when the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch was first released in 2002.

The founder of NUSofting, Luigi, has recently modified the initial algorithm and created a better oscillator, leading to the development of a brand new VST synthesizer.

The latest edition of the software has been developed using the C++ programming language and is currently in its early beta stage. It can be accessed through the developer's website, the link to which is provided below.

The beta version is completely operational and consists of 23 pre-set options.

Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by making it a one-click action. Users do not need to login or provide any personal information to obtain the Zip file.

A video on YouTube has been posted, featuring a preliminary version of the Glitch Pad. The video highlights its unique and nostalgic sound.

The synthesizer would be a perfect fit for genres like calming atmospheric music, innovative soundtracks, and compositions for video games.

The preset names, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir, suggest the different styles that are represented.

When you first look at the interface of Glitch Pad, there is a lot of information to process.

In terms of appearance and organization, there is definitely some potential for improvement. However, considering that it is a free beta version, it is understandable that there may be limitations in what you can expect.

Towards the lower part of the interface, there is a keyboard and a preset selector. Above that, you will find a graphical representation of the waveform.

According to the plugin's interface, users will be able to take part in the beta for a duration of two months until the expiration date in March 2024.

It remains uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be offered as a paid product or be made available as freeware after the beta phase. NUSofting has previously released products in both paid and free versions, so the outcome is not yet determined.

NUSofting is currently offering discounts on some of their synthesizers. If you enjoy the sound of their products, it might be worth exploring their other releases.

It is unclear whether the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period concludes.

"You should mention in the title that this plugin is exclusively for Windows"… oh, you've already done that. I appreciate it, but unfortunately, it's too late. Complaints from Apple users in the comment section have now become a well-known joke at BPB.

There is a similar level of arrogance among Windows users. Although I personally do not use a Mac, it is clear that the people who claim to be indifferent towards the whole debate about operating systems are predominantly Windows users, and they are just as prevalent in the comments section.

This is an interesting little thing. It has some good ideas, especially with the way the pitch envelope works. It would be even better if it had a separate LFO for each destination and more varied shapes, including some unconventional ones, to improve randomization. It's possible that these improvements are already being addressed since it's in beta, but just in case they aren't, it would be great to see them added. 🙂

The sound capabilities of Glitch Pad are truly impressive! Luigi from Nusofting has consistently been undervalued as a developer. His work is outstanding!

That's great! But I have a complaint about the absence of Rewire. I believe that if Rewire was still available, it would greatly enhance the functionality of these "intro DAWs" by seamlessly integrating with our existing setups. It's amazing to me that as technology advances, such a useful tool has not been adequately replaced yet. While there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, Rewire allowed for direct sending and receiving of MIDI and audio from the DAW without any problems or delays, ensuring everything stayed synchronized.
