The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible in VST2 and VST3 formats for Windows operating systems that are 64-bit.
NUSofting usually offers full-release plugins for both Windows and Mac operating systems. Therefore, Mac users can expect to have access to the software when version 1.0 is officially launched.
The history of the plugin dates back many years to when the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch was first released in 2002.
Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently modified the initial algorithm and developed an enhanced oscillator, leading to the creation of a new VST synthesizer.
The latest edition of the software has been programmed in C++ from the ground up and can be accessed in its initial beta version directly from the developer's website, which is provided as a link below.
The beta version is completely operational and consists of 23 pre-set options.
Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by making it a one-click action. Users are not required to log in or provide any personal information in order to obtain the Zip file.
A video has been uploaded on YouTube that features an unofficial demonstration of the Glitch Pad. In the video, the Glitch Pad produces a unique and nostalgic sound.
The synthesizer would be well-suited for genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.
The names of the presets provide hints about the different styles, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir.
When you first look at the interface for Glitch Pad, there is a significant amount of information to absorb.
In terms of appearance and design, there is potential for enhancement, but considering that it is a free beta version, one can only have limited expectations.
Towards the lower part of the interface, you will find a keyboard and a preset selector. Just above that, there is a graphical display of the waveform.
According to the plugin's interface, users will be able to participate in the beta for a period of two months, with the expiration date set for the end of March 2024.
It is uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be available for purchase or offered for free after the beta phase, as NUSofting has previously released both paid and free products.
NUSofting has a sale going on for some of their synthesizers, so if you enjoy the sound and music produced by them, it would be worth exploring their other available options.
It is not known if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period is over.

This is an interesting little thing. It has some good ideas, particularly with the way the pitch envelope functions. It would be even better if it had a low-frequency oscillator (LFO) for each destination, and maybe more diverse shapes, including some unusual ones, to improve randomization. It's possible that these improvements are already being worked on since it's in beta, but just in case they're not… 😀

That's great! However, I have a small complaint. I really miss the feature called Rewire. I believe that if Rewire was still available, it would make these "intro DAWs" much more useful. It would allow them to easily work alongside the DAWs we already use. It's crazy to think that as technology advances, such a useful feature is no longer available and hasn't been properly replaced yet. Sure, there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, but Rewire allowed for seamless MIDI and audio communication between DAWs without any issues or latency, while keeping everything in sync.
