Get Future Audio Workshop’s SubLab for $10 and NUSofting’s Glitch Pad Synth Beta for Windows for a Limited Time

  • by

For a limited time, you can purchase SubLab by Future Audio Workshop for only $10. NUSofting has recently released a beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth for Windows, which is currently available to the public for free until the end of March.

The Glitch Pad public beta is currently accessible for 64-bit Windows systems in both VST2 and VST3 formats.

NUSofting usually releases their plugins for both Windows and Mac, so Mac users will likely have the opportunity to participate when version 1.0 is released.

The history of the plugin can be traced back to the early 2000s when the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch was first introduced in 2002.

The creator of NUSofting, Luigi, has recently redesigned the initial algorithm and developed a better oscillator, which has led to the creation of a new VST synthesizer.

The developer has created a new version of the software using C++ programming language. This updated version is currently in the early beta stage and can be accessed through the developer's website, the link to which is provided below.

The beta version is completely operational and consists of 23 pre-set options.

Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by making it a one-click action, without the need for any login or personal information to obtain the Zip file.

On YouTube, there is a demo of the Glitch Pad that has not been officially released. This demo highlights a unique and nostalgic sound.

The synthesizer would be perfectly suited for music genres like ambient, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.

The preset names provide clues about the different styles, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir.

At first look, the interface for Glitch Pad appears to be quite overwhelming with a lot of information to absorb.

In terms of appearance and organization, there is potential for improvement. However, considering that it is a free beta version, one should only have limited expectations.

Towards the lower part of the interface, you will find a keyboard and a preset selector. Above that, there is a graphical depiction of the waveform.

According to the plugin's interface, users will be able to participate in the beta for a period of two months until the end of March 2024, after which it will expire.

It is uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be offered as a paid product or be released for free after the beta testing phase, as NUSofting has previously released both paid and free versions of their products.

NUSofting is currently offering discounts on some of their synthesizers. If you enjoy the sound of their products, it might be worth exploring their other releases.

It is currently unknown if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period comes to an end.

"Make sure to mention in the title that this plugin is exclusively for Windows"… oh, you've already done that. I appreciate it, but unfortunately, it's too late. People complaining about this not being available for Apple devices in the comment section has become a running joke at BPB.

There is a considerable amount of snobbery related to using Windows. I may not be a Mac user myself, but it is evident that the majority of people who claim to be indifferent to the whole operating system debate are actually Windows users. This can be observed from their presence in the comments section.

This is an amusing little thing. It has some interesting concepts, such as the way the pitch envelope functions. It would greatly improve if there was a low-frequency oscillator (LFO) available for each destination, and maybe more unique shapes for better randomization. It's possible that these suggestions are already being addressed since it's in beta, but just in case they're not… 😀

The Glitch Pad has the ability to produce impressive sounds. Luigi, the developer at Nusofting, has not received enough recognition for his skills. His work is truly exceptional!

That's great! But I have a complaint about something. I really miss the feature called "rewire!" If it was still available, all these beginner digital audio workstations (DAWs) would be much more helpful because they could easily work alongside the DAWs we already use. It's crazy to think that as technology advances, such a useful feature has disappeared and hasn't been properly replaced yet. Sure, there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, but rewire allowed for seamless sending and receiving of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW, without any issues or delays, while keeping everything in sync.
