For a limited time, you can purchase SubLab by Future Audio Workshop for only $10. NUSofting has recently released a beta version of their Glitch Pad synthesizer plugin for Windows, which is available for free to the public until the end of March.
The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible for 64-bit Windows in both VST2 and VST3 formats.
When NUSofting releases a plugin, they usually make it available for both Windows and Mac users. Therefore, Mac users will likely have the opportunity to use it once the 1.0 version is released.
The history of the plugin can be traced back to the year 2002 when the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch was first released, marking its origins several decades ago.
Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently restructured the initial algorithm and developed an enhanced oscillator, leading to the creation of a brand new VST synthesizer.
The developer has created a new version of the software using C++ programming language. This early beta version can be downloaded from the developer's website, the link of which is provided below.
The beta version is completely operational and consists of 23 pre-configured settings.
Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by making it a one-click action. Users do not need to log in or provide any personal information to obtain the Zip file.
A video on YouTube has already been uploaded, featuring an unofficial demonstration of the Glitch Pad. The video highlights the unique and nostalgic sound produced by this instrument.
The synthesizer would be a perfect fit for genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.
The preset names like echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir give a clue about the different styles that are suggested by these presets.
Upon initial observation, the interface for Glitch Pad contains a plethora of information and features that may appear overwhelming.
In terms of appearance and arrangement, there is definitely room for enhancement. However, it is important to consider that this is a free beta version, so one should not expect too much.
Located at the lower part of the interface, there is a keyboard and a preset selector. Positioned above that, there is a graphical depiction of the waveform.
According to the plugin's interface, users can take part in the beta for a duration of two months, with the expiration date set for the end of March 2024.
It is uncertain if the Glitch Pad will be released as a paid product or as freeware after the beta testing phase. This ambiguity arises because NUSofting has previously offered both paid and free releases of their products.
NUSofting is currently offering discounts on some of their synths. If you enjoy the sound of their products, it could be worth exploring their other releases.
It is currently unclear if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period is over.

"Make sure to include in the title that this plugin is exclusively for Windows" – oh, you've already done that. I appreciate it, but unfortunately, it's too late now. The complaints from Apple users in the comment section have become a well-known joke within the BPB community.

There is a similar level of snobbery among Windows users. Even though I don't use a Mac myself, let's admit that the majority of people who claim to be indifferent to the whole operating system debate are actually Windows users. And this is evident from their presence in the comments.

This is an interesting and enjoyable thing. It has some good concepts, such as the functioning of the pitch envelope. However, it would greatly improve if it had a Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO) for each destination, as well as more diverse shapes, including some unusual ones, to enhance the randomization effect. Since it is currently in beta, it is possible that these improvements are already being worked on. However, if they are not, it would be great to see them implemented in the future.

The Glitch Pad has the ability to produce exceptional sounds! Luigi, the developer at Nusofting, has often been overlooked but his work is truly impressive!

I really like this! But I want to express my frustration about the absence of Rewire. I believe that if Rewire was still available, it would greatly enhance the usefulness of these "intro DAWs" by seamlessly integrating with our current setups. It's mind-boggling that such a useful tool has not been adequately replaced as technology advances. While there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, Rewire allowed for seamless transmission of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW without any problems or delays, while keeping everything in sync.
