Get Future Audio Workshop’s SubLab For $10 & NUSofting Releases Free Glitch Pad Synth Beta: Limited Time Offers

  • by

For a limited time, you can purchase SubLab by Future Audio Workshop for only $10. NUSofting has recently launched a beta version of their Glitch Pad Synth for Windows, which is available for free until the end of March.

The public beta version of Glitch Pad is currently accessible for 64-bit Windows in both VST2 and VST3 formats.

NUSofting usually offers their plugins for both Windows and Mac operating systems, so Mac users will likely have the opportunity to access the software once it is released in version 1.0.

The origin of the plugin can be traced back to the release of the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch in 2002, which happened several decades ago.

Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently reworked the initial algorithm and created an enhanced oscillator, leading to the development of a new VST synthesizer.

The developer has created a new version of the software using C++ programming language. This updated version is currently in its early beta stage and can be accessed through the developer's website, which is provided as a link below.

The beta version is completely operational and comes with 23 pre-set options.

Luigi has simplified the process of downloading the plugin by making it a one-click action, without the need for any login or personal information.

A video on YouTube has been released featuring an informal demonstration of the Glitch Pad. The video highlights its unique sound which has a nostalgic touch reminiscent of the past.

The synthesizer would be a perfect fit for genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.

The preset names suggest different styles, such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir.

At first glance, the interface of Glitch Pad presents a lot of information and features to absorb.

In terms of appearance and organization, there is some potential for improvement. However, considering that it is a free beta version, one can only have certain expectations.

Towards the lower part of the interface, there is a keyboard and a preset selector. Above that, you will find a graphical display of the waveform.

According to the plugin's interface, users will be able to participate in the beta for a duration of two months until it expires in March 2024.

It is uncertain if the Glitch Pad will be offered as a paid product or be released as freeware once the beta phase is completed. NUSofting has previously released both paid and free versions of their products.

NUSofting is offering discounts on some of their synthesizers at the moment. If you enjoy the sound, it might be worth exploring their other products.

It is unclear whether the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period comes to an end.

"Make sure to mention in the title that this plugin is exclusively for Windows"… oh, you already did that. I appreciate it, but unfortunately, it's too late now. People complaining about it not being compatible with Apple devices in the comment section has become a recurring joke within the BPB community.

There is a certain level of snobbery associated with using Windows. Although I personally do not use a Mac, it is quite evident that the majority of people who claim to be indifferent towards the topic of operating systems are actually Windows users. This attitude is equally prevalent in the comments section.

This is an interesting and amusing tool. It has some good concepts, such as the functionality of the pitch envelope. It would greatly improve if it had a Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO) for each destination and a variety of unique shapes for more diverse randomization. Considering it is still in beta, it is possible that these features are already being developed. However, if they are not, they would be a great addition. 🙂

The Glitch Pad has the ability to produce fantastic sounds! Luigi, the developer of Nusofting, has always been underappreciated. His work is truly impressive!

I agree! However, I have a complaint. I really miss the feature called "rewire" in music production. I believe that if "rewire" was still available, all these beginner digital audio workstations (DAWs) would be much more beneficial. They would be able to easily complement the DAWs we already use. It's frustrating to see that as technology advances, such a useful feature is no longer available and hasn't been adequately replaced yet. Sure, there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, but "rewire" allowed for seamless sending and receiving of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW without any issues or latency, while keeping everything in sync.
