Get Your Hands on NUSofting’s Glitch Pad Synth Beta for Free – Limited Time Offer!

  • by

For a limited time, you can purchase SubLab by Future Audio Workshop for only $10. NUSofting has recently launched a beta version of their Glitch Pad synthesizer plugin for Windows, which is available to the public for free until the end of March.

The public beta version of Glitch Pad can be accessed in both VST2 and VST3 formats, specifically designed for 64-bit Windows operating systems.

NUSofting usually releases their plugins for both Windows and Mac operating systems. Therefore, Mac users will likely have the opportunity to use the plugins when they are fully released at version 1.0.

The roots of the plugin can be traced back to the Glitch Pad SynC Modular patch, which was released in 2002, making it several decades old.

Luigi, the founder of NUSofting, has recently reworked the initial algorithm and created an enhanced oscillator, which has led to the development of a brand new VST synthesizer.

The latest edition of the software has been developed using C++ programming language and can be accessed in its preliminary beta version through the developer's website, provided in the link below.

The beta version is completely operational and consists of 23 pre-made settings.

Downloading the plugin has been simplified by Luigi, allowing users to download it with just one click. There is no need to login or provide personal information in order to obtain the Zip file.

A video on YouTube has been uploaded, displaying a prototype version of the Glitch Pad. The video highlights its unique and nostalgic sound.

The synthesizer would be a perfect fit for genres like ambient music, experimental soundtracks, and video game music.

The preset names such as echo dream, echo pendulum, foggy voices, slow choir, and washed choir give a hint about the different styles that are represented.

When you first look at the interface for Glitch Pad, there is a lot of information and features to digest.

In terms of appearance and design, there are areas that could be improved upon. However, considering it is a free beta version, it's important to keep one's expectations in check.

At the lower part of the user interface, there is a keyboard and a pre-set selector. Above that, there is a graphical representation of the waveform.

According to the plugin's interface, users will be able to participate in the beta for a period of two months, until the expiration date at the end of March 2024.

It is uncertain whether the Glitch Pad will be released as a paid product or offered as freeware after the beta version, as NUSofting has previously released both paid and free products.

NUSofting is currently offering discounts on some of their synthesizers. If you enjoy the sound, it would be worth exploring their other available products.

It is currently unknown if the synth will continue to be available for free once the beta period is over.

"You should mention in the title that this plugin is exclusively for Windows"… oh, you've already done that. I appreciate it, but unfortunately, it's a bit too late. The complaints from Apple users in the comment section have now become a well-known joke within the BPB community.

There is a certain level of snobbery associated with being a Windows user. Even though I don't use a Mac myself, it's clear that the people who claim to be indifferent towards the topic of operating systems are usually Windows users. This attitude is also prevalent in the comments section.

This is an amusing piece of software. It has some interesting concepts, such as the way the pitch envelope functions. It would greatly improve if it had a Low-Frequency Oscillator (LFO) for each destination, and maybe more diverse shapes, including some unconventional ones, for better randomization. It is possible that these improvements are already being implemented since it is still in beta, but just in case they are not, it would be a great addition.

The Glitch Pad has the ability to produce exceptional sounds! Luigi, the developer behind Nusofting, has consistently been underappreciated. His work is truly impressive!

That's great! However, I have a rant to share. I really miss the feature called Rewire. I believe that if Rewire was still available, these "intro DAWs" would be much more useful as they could easily complement the DAWs we already use. It's unbelievable that as technology advances, such a useful feature is no longer around and hasn't been adequately replaced yet. Sure, there are alternatives like Ableton Link or a Bluetooth plugin, but Rewire allowed for seamless sending and receiving of MIDI and audio directly from the DAW without any issues or latency, while keeping everything in sync.
