Modular synthesis offers a great deal of freedom and flexibility. Software platforms such as VCV Rack 2, Reaktor, and Cherry Audio's Voltage Modular allow users to simulate the signal path of a Eurorack setup.
For Reaktor, you have the option to immediately start visually programming DSP. On the other hand, KarmaFX's Synth Modular 2 follows a similar approach but has its own unique design philosophy.
If you're looking to expand your collection of virtual modular synths, you can get the KarmaFX Synth Modular 2 at a discounted price of 80% off from Audio Plugin Deals until February 5th.
I am a big fan of the VCV Rack's workflow and I often use it on both Mac and Windows operating systems. However, I find KarmaFX's approach to modular synthesis to be quite fascinating.
The preconfigured settings produce an impressive sound, although they mainly cater to trance music and its related subgenres.
If you are searching for deep and impactful bass sounds, sharp and aggressive lead tones, and rich and atmospheric pads commonly heard in movies, this tool can easily produce them.
Synth Modular 2 may take some time to understand its signal flow. However, once you have mastered programming a sound from the ground up using its modular components, the possibilities are endless.
I have a strong liking for the possibilities offered by the sequencer modules. Instead of being limited to the analog modeled knobs found on a Serge or a typical sequencer, the sequencer modules offer a more visually appealing experience.
The user interface is easily understandable and visually appealing. It adjusts smoothly to different screen sizes, making it particularly useful for those using higher resolutions. I personally tried using Synth Modular 2 on a 4K monitor and was impressed by its seamless performance.
I really hope that the window could be resized without any restrictions, although that complaint can be discussed at another time. Nevertheless, considering the price of $39.99, I believe it is a worthwhile investment.
Synth Modular 2 performs excellently on computers running Windows operating system. Nevertheless, while experimenting with the trial version on my M1 Mac, I faced problems as it automatically switched to using Rosetta.
However, there is a lot of content to discover and experiment with in this product. By having both a synthesizer and effects plugin, you have the opportunity to create unique and extraordinary combinations, as long as you are willing to invest time into it. It is recommended to take advantage of this sale and make your purchase soon, as it will not be available for much longer.
Take a look at this offer: Synth Modular 2 is currently discounted by 80% until February 5th, available for only $39.99.

An extremely intriguing plugin
However, Pluginomat had the same promotion available last month.
I am curious if Karma FX has set their prices too high, considering the frequent sales they are offering.

I share the same opinion as Humanoid. In my view, the product has been priced too high, especially considering the fact that it is often available for purchase at
I want to caution anyone who plans to purchase this product that it only includes either the MacOS or Windows version, not both. If you initially buy it for Mac and later decide to switch to Windows, you won't be able to deactivate it on Mac and use it on Windows. The license only allows for use on one operating system. Personally, I find this to be quite impractical since I frequently work on multiple platforms.
I made the purchase two years ago. The sound quality and versatility are satisfactory, although they didn't amaze me. The CPU usage is moderate, which is expected for modular synths. It would be great to have some different skins available for it. The user interface is a bit cumbersome. I would consider it decent for a modular synth, but overall it is fairly average in my opinion.
