Discover AutoBeat: The AI-Powered Drum Sequencer Plugin for Windows and Mac

  • by

You can save 95% on Universal Audio's Electronic Music Bundle. Autobeat is a drum sequencer plugin powered by AI and it is available for free. Axart Software has recently launched AutoBeat, a drum sequencer plugin for Windows and macOS. While there is a paid version, the free version is also available.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is currently very popular and widely discussed. In addition to the previously mentioned free AI music generators, this technology is now being utilized for generating MIDI, editing audio, and other various applications.

I have prior knowledge of Axart Software and their impressive mKer sequencer suite for the iPad. However, I was taken by surprise when I discovered that they had developed an AI-powered drum sequencer for both Windows and Mac operating systems.

AutoBeat offers both a free and paid version, but even with the free version, there are numerous features and options worth exploring. Now, let's delve further into the software to gain a better understanding.

The foundation of Autobeat consists of various musical styles that are used to create drum beats. There are a total of 8 genres to choose from, including electronic categories such as house, techno, and DnB.

Furthermore, there are a total of 12 tracks available for use, which is generally sufficient for the majority of MIDI-based drum machines compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Personally, I utilized Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas.

Since I realized that I was already using AI, I decided to fully embrace it and aim for the highest level of success possible.

You have the option to choose the thickness, size, and strength of each design. Additionally, the randomization dial adds a touch of organized disorder to the combination.

In my experience, I discovered that setting it to approximately 25% yielded the most optimal results. Without this setting, I observed that things tended to rapidly move towards abstraction

With Autobeat's paid version, you have the ability to export MIDI to the drum machine plugin that you prefer. If you are comfortable with routing MIDI, then you are in for a delightful experience.

I appreciate the flexibility of being able to customize the mapping of things according to my own workflow. The interface is user-friendly and easy to understand, and there are specific options to mute and solo each of the 12 tracks. Furthermore, it is possible to save multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns being stored across 8 prompts.

If you're struggling with creativity in terms of percussive elements, Autobeat is a great option to try. However, I had to make some adjustments to focus on the specific elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to improve.

But once I had figured it out, I started progressing quickly!

Autobeat can be used on both Windows and Mac computers. It has been specifically designed to be compatible with Apple Silicon, which is a great feature.

Get AutoBeat now! You can choose between the free or paid versions.

The software is not functioning properly on my computer and is causing my digital audio workstation (Samplitude) to freeze. Unfortunately, I had to uninstall it due to these issues.

When using it in Ableton, it creates MIDI data but does not produce any sound. To hear the sound, you must run it in a channel and then route the MIDI into a separate channel that has a drum kit or virtual instrument (VST) loaded.

Hmm, now it appears that it has completely ceased

Whenever I try to click on a button in FL studio, the program crashes immediately.

This is rubbish. It does not have any form of artificial intelligence, only a collection of patterns.

Reginald,

I tested it with Ableton Live 11 on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 running Windows 10 and equipped with 16GB of RAM. I installed and loaded a VST in a MIDI channel, and also loaded a Live Impulse drum application. I followed a video tutorial and learned that I needed to route the MIDI channel to send information to the drum VST. I connected everything and pressed play, but there was no sound. I tried again with a different application, hoping to assign the MIDI notes to the loaded samples, but still no sound. I decided to uninstall the application. It was quicker to manually load the VST3 and DLL files for Speedrum Lite, load them into Live, and create my own drum notes for a randomized pattern.
