Discover the Power of AutoBeat: An AI-Driven Drum Sequencer Plugin for Windows and macOS

Save 95% on the Electronic Music Bundle offered by Universal Audio. Additionally, Autobeat, an AI drum sequencer plugin, is available for free. Axart Software has recently launched AutoBeat, a drum sequencer plugin that is compatible with both Windows and macOS. While a paid version is also accessible, there is a free version available as well.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently very popular and in high demand. In addition to the previously discussed free AI music generators, this technology is now being utilized for generating MIDI files, editing audio, and various other purposes.

I already know about Axart Software and their fantastic mKer sequencer suite for the iPad. However, it was unexpected to find out that they also had an AI-powered drum sequencer for both Windows and Mac operating systems.

While there is a paid version available for AutoBeat, there are still many features and options to discover with the free version. Therefore, let's delve further into it and examine its offerings.

The fundamental aspect of Autobeat revolves around choosing different types of music genres to create drum beats. There are a total of 8 genres available, which include electronic styles such as house, techno, and DnB.

Additionally, there are a total of 12 available tracks to utilize, which should be sufficient for the majority of MIDI-based drum machines compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Personally, I found it beneficial to combine Autobeat with Algonaut's Atlas.

Since I had decided to utilize AI, I thought it would be best to fully embrace it and aim for the highest level of success possible.

You have the ability to choose how dense, long, and intense each pattern will be. Additionally, the randomization dial adds a touch of organized chaos to the overall mixture.

In my experience, I discovered that setting it at approximately 25% yielded the most optimal results. I observed that without this adjustment, things tended to become abstract rather rapidly

With Autobeat's paid version, you have the option to export MIDI to your preferred drum machine plugin. If you are comfortable with routing MIDI, you will be pleasantly surprised.

I appreciate the flexibility of being able to customize the mapping of things according to my workflow. The interface is user-friendly and easy to understand, and there are separate options to mute or solo each of the 12 tracks. Furthermore, it is possible to save multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns that can be stored across 8 prompts.

If you're struggling with creativity when it comes to percussive elements, giving Autobeat a try is definitely a good idea. I had to make some adjustments to focus on the specific elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to improve.

Once I had figured it out and got everything set up, I was ready to go and started quickly.

Autobeat can be used on both Windows and Mac computers. It is designed specifically for Apple Silicon, which is highly appreciated by users.

Get AutoBeat: you can either download it for free or buy the paid version

When using it in Ableton, the software creates MIDI data but does not produce any sound. To hear the sound, you must run it through a channel and route the MIDI data into a different channel that contains a drum kit or a virtual instrument (VST).

This is trash. It does not have any AI capabilities, it is simply a collection of patterns.

I tested it out using Ableton Live 11 on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 with 16GB of RAM running Windows 10. I installed and loaded a VST plugin in a MIDI channel, as well as loaded a Live Impulse drum application. I followed a video tutorial and discovered that I needed to route the MIDI channel to send the signal to the drum VST. However, when I linked everything and hit play, there was no sound. I attempted the process again with a different application in order to assign the MIDI notes to the loaded samples, but still encountered the same issue. As a result, I decided to uninstall the software. Instead, I found it more efficient to manually load the VST3 and DLL for Speedrum Lite, load it into Live, and manually create my own drum notes for a "random" pattern.
