Get a complimentary AI Drum Sequencer Plugin called Autobeat.
Axart Software has recently launched AutoBeat, a drum sequencer plugin that is free for both Windows and macOS users. However, there is also a paid version of the plugin available.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently receiving a lot of attention. In a previous article, we discussed the availability of AI music generators. However, AI technology is now expanding its capabilities to include the generation of MIDI files, audio editing, and various other applications.
I am already acquainted with the team at Axart Software because of their impressive mKer sequencer suite designed for the iPad. However, I was taken aback to learn that they also offer an AI-powered drum sequencer for both Windows and Mac operating systems.
Although AutoBeat offers a paid version, there is still a wide range of features to explore in the free version. Therefore, let's delve further into the software and examine its capabilities.
Autobeat has a fundamental feature consisting of various genres that can be used to create drum beats. There are a total of 8 genres to choose from, including electronic styles such as house, techno, and DnB.
Additionally, there are a total of 12 tracks available for use, which is sufficient for the majority of MIDI-based drum machines compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. In my experience, I utilized Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas.
Since I was already using AI, I thought it would be a good idea to fully embrace it and aim for the highest level of success.
You have the option to choose how dense, long, and intense each pattern will be. The randomization dial also adds a touch of organized chaos to the combination.
In my experience, I discovered that setting it to approximately 25% yielded the best results. Without this adjustment, I observed that things tended to become abstract at a rapid
If you choose to upgrade to Autobeat's paid version, you will have the ability to export MIDI files to your preferred drum machine plugin. If the process of routing MIDI doesn't bother you, then you are in for a delightful experience.
I appreciate the flexibility of being able to customize the mapping of things according to my own workflow. The interface is user-friendly and easy to understand, and there are separate mute and solo options available for each of the 12 tracks. Moreover, it is possible to save multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns being stored across 8 prompts.
If you're feeling stuck in your creativity when it comes to percussive elements, Autobeat is a great option to consider. However, I did have to make some adjustments to specifically focus on the elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to improve.
Once I had figured it out, I started quickly and efficiently.
Autobeat can be used on both Windows and Mac computers. It is specifically designed to work seamlessly with Apple Silicon, which is quite impressive.
Get AutoBeat by downloading it for free or purchasing the paid versions.

The software is not functioning properly on my computer and causing my digital audio workstation (Samplitude) to freeze. I had to uninstall it due to these issues.
Sorry, I'm not able
When using it in Ableton, the tool produces MIDI data but does not produce any sound. In order to hear the sound, you have to direct the MIDI data into a separate channel that contains a drum kit or a virtual instrument.
I'm sorry, but "
Hmm, now it has completely ceased to function.

This is not artificial intelligence at all, just a collection of different patterns.

I tested it out on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 with 16GB of RAM, running Ableton Live 11 on Windows 10. I installed and loaded a VST in a MIDI channel, and also loaded a Live Impulse drum app. I followed a video tutorial and discovered that I needed to route the MIDI channel to the drum VST in order to hear the sound. However, when I linked and hit play, there was no sound. I tried again with a different app, hoping to assign the MIDI notes to the loaded samples, but still no sound. I decided to uninstall it. I found it quicker to manually load the VST3 and DLL Speedrum Lite, load it into Live, and manually create my own drum notes for a "random" pattern.
