Autobeat, an AI Drum Sequencer Plugin, is now available for free.

Axart Software has recently launched AutoBeat, a drum sequencer plugin that is compatible with both Windows and macOS (there is also a paid version available).

Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently gaining a lot of attention. We previously discussed AI music generators that are available for free, but now this technology is being utilized for creating MIDI files, audio editing, and numerous other applications.

I am already acquainted with the talented individuals at Axart Software because of their exceptional mKer sequencer suite designed for the iPad. However, it was quite unexpected to discover that they also offer an artificial intelligence-powered drum sequencer for both Windows and Mac operating systems.

While AutoBeat offers a paid version, there is still a lot you can discover and explore with the free version. Therefore, let's delve further and examine it closely.

Autobeat offers a variety of music genres that can be used to create drum beats. Users have the option to choose from 8 different genres, including electronic styles such as house, techno, and DnB.

Additionally, there are a total of 12 tracks available for use, which should be sufficient for the majority of MIDI-based drum machines compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. Personally, I found it convenient to utilize Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas.

Since I had already decided to use AI, I thought it would be best to fully commit and aim for the highest level of success.

You have the option to choose how dense, long, and intense each pattern will be. The randomization dial also adds a touch of organized chaos to the combination.

I discovered that setting it to approximately 25% yielded the best results, as I observed that things started to become more abstract at a faster rate otherwise.

With Autobeat's premium version, you have the option to export MIDI to any drum machine plugin you prefer. If you are comfortable with routing MIDI, then you are in for an enjoyable experience.

I appreciate the flexibility of being able to customize the mapping of things according to my own workflow. The user interface is intuitive and easy to understand, and it offers separate mute and solo options for each of the 12 tracks. Furthermore, it allows for the storage of multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns being saved across 8 prompts.

If you're experiencing a lack of creativity in creating percussive elements, giving Autobeat a try would be beneficial. However, I did need to make some adjustments to specifically focus on the elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to improve.

After I figured out how to use it correctly, I quickly started making progress or achieving success.

Autobeat can be used on both Windows and Mac computers. It has been designed specifically for Apple Silicon, which is always a pleasant feature to have.

Get AutoBeat by downloading it for free or purchasing the paid version.

This software does not function properly on my computer and causes my digital audio workstation (Samplitude) to freeze. As a result, I have uninstalled it due to the negative experience

I'm sorry, but "

When using it in Ableton, the tool creates MIDI signals but does not produce any sound. Therefore, you must utilize a channel and direct the MIDI signals into a new channel that contains a drum kit or virtual instrument.

There is no meaning or definition

Hmm, now it has completely ceased to function.

I'm sorry

Whenever I try to click on any button in FL studio, it immediately crashes.

This is not artificial intelligence in any form; it is only a collection of patterns.

I tested it with Ableton Live 11 on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 with 16Gb of Ram running Windows 10. I installed and loaded a VST in a midi channel, and also loaded a Live Impulse drum app. I followed a video tutorial and discovered that I needed to route the Midi channel to trigger the drum VST. I linked everything and pressed play, but there was no sound. I tried again with a different app, hoping to assign the midi notes to the loaded samples, but still got no sound. As a result, I uninstalled the app. Instead, I found it quicker to manually load the vst3 and dll Speedrum Lite, load it into Live, and manually create my own drum notes for a "random" pattern.

The Axart website is no longer accessible, which raises some suspicions.
