Autobeat is a plugin for creating drum sequences with the help of AI and it is available for free. Axart Software has recently launched this drum sequencer plugin, which is compatible with both Windows and macOS. Additionally, there is also a paid version of the plugin.

I have previous knowledge of Axart Software, as I have used their impressive mKer sequencer suite on my iPad. However, I was taken aback to discover that they have created an AI-powered drum sequencer that is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems.
While AutoBeat does offer a paid version, there is still a lot to discover and enjoy with the free version. Therefore, let's delve further into its features and examine them closely.
Autobeat is centered around a variety of music genres that can be used to create drum beats. There are 8 genres available to choose from, including electronic styles such as house, techno, and DnB.
Additionally, there are a total of 12 tracks available for use, which is typically sufficient for the majority of MIDI-driven drum machines compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems. In my case, I found it beneficial to utilize Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas.
Since I was already using AI, I thought it would be best to fully embrace it and strive for the ultimate success.
You have the ability to choose the thickness, size, and strength of every design. The randomization option also adds a touch of organized disorder to the combination.
In my experience, I discovered that setting it to around 25% yielded the best results. Otherwise, things seemed to become abstract too rapidly.
With Autobeat's paid version, you have the option to export MIDI to any drum machine plugin that you prefer. If you are comfortable with routing MIDI, then you will definitely enjoy this feature.
I appreciate the flexibility of being able to customize the mapping of things according to my own workflow. The interface is intuitive and easy to understand, and it offers the option to mute or solo individual tracks among the 12 available. Moreover, it allows for the storage of multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns being stored across 8 prompts.
If you're struggling with creativity in producing percussion elements, Autobeat is a great option to consider. However, I had to make some adjustments to specifically focus on the percussive elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to improve.

When using it in Ableton, the software generates MIDI data but does not produce any sound. Therefore, you need to run it in a specific channel and then redirect the MIDI data into a new channel that has a drum kit or VST (Virtual Studio Technology) instrument loaded in it.

This is rubbish. There is no artificial intelligence involved here, just a collection of patterns.

I tested it using Ableton Live 11 on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 with 16GB of RAM running Windows 10. I installed and loaded a VST in a MIDI channel, and also loaded a Live Impulse drum application. I followed a video tutorial and discovered that I needed to route the MIDI channel to send signals to the drum VST. After linking everything and pressing play, I realized there was no sound. I tried again with a different application, hoping to assign the MIDI notes to the loaded samples, but still encountered the same issue. Eventually, I uninstalled the application. It was quicker for me to manually load the VST3 and DLL Speedrum Lite, load it into Live, and manually create my own drum notes for a "random" pattern.
