Autobeat, an AI drum sequencer plugin, is now available for free.

Axart Software has introduced AutoBeat, a drum sequencer plugin that can be used on both Windows and macOS. While there is a paid version, a free version is also available.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently very popular and widely discussed. Previously, we discussed the existence of free AI music generators. However, this technology is now being utilized for various purposes such as generating MIDI files, editing audio, and many other applications.

I have prior knowledge of Axart Software and their impressive mKer sequencer suite designed for the iPad. However, it came as a surprise to discover that they also offer an AI-powered drum sequencer specifically designed for both Windows and Mac operating systems.

While AutoBeat does offer a paid version, there are still many features and options available to explore with the free version. Therefore, let's delve a bit further and examine what it has to offer.

Autobeat primarily consists of a variety of music genres that are used to create drum beats. Users have the option to choose from 8 different genres, including electronic ones like house, techno, and DnB.

Additionally, there are a total of 12 tracks available for use, which is generally sufficient for the majority of drum machines that are MIDI-operated on both Windows and Mac operating systems. Personally, I utilized Autobeat in conjunction with Algonaut's Atlas.

Since I had already decided to use AI, I thought I might as well fully commit and aim for the highest level of success.

You have the option to choose how dense, long, and intense you want each pattern to be. Additionally, the randomization dial adds a touch of organized disorder to the combination.

In my experience, I discovered that setting it to approximately 25% yielded the most optimal results. I observed that without this setting, things tended to become abstract rather quickly

By using Autobeat's paid version, you have the option to transfer MIDI files to your preferred drum machine plugin. If you are comfortable with managing MIDI routing, this feature will surely be an enjoyable experience for you.

I appreciate the flexibility of being able to customize the mapping of things according to my own workflow. The interface is user-friendly and easy to understand, allowing for individual muting and soloing on each of the 12 tracks. Moreover, it is possible to save multiple patterns, with a total of 128 patterns stored across 8 prompts.

If you're struggling with creativity when it comes to percussion, Autobeat is a great option to consider. However, I did have to make some adjustments to specifically focus on the elements of my Atlas kits that I wanted to improve.

Once I had figured it out, I quickly got started and made good progress.

Autobeat can be used on both Windows and Mac computers. It is specifically designed to run smoothly on Apple Silicon, which is quite impressive and pleasing to witness.

Get AutoBeat by downloading it for free or purchasing the paid version.

The software is not functioning properly on my computer and causes my Digital Audio Workstation (Samplitude) to freeze. I had to uninstall it due to these issues.

I'm sorry, but "

When using it in Ableton, this tool creates MIDI data but does not produce any sound. To hear the sound, you must route the MIDI into a new channel that has a drum kit or virtual instrument (VST) loaded.

Hmm, now it has completely ceased to function.

I am sorry

Whenever I try to click on any button in FL Studio, it immediately causes the software to crash

Rubbish. This is not artificial intelligence in any way, but rather just a collection of patterns.

I tested it out using Ableton Live 11 on a Dell G5s Ryzen 17 computer with 16Gb of RAM. I installed and loaded a VST in a MIDI channel, and also loaded a Live Impulse drum application. I followed a video tutorial and learned that I needed to route the MIDI channel in order to use the drum VST. I linked everything together and pressed play, but there was no sound. I tried again with a different application, hoping to assign the MIDI notes to the loaded samples, but still no sound. Eventually, I uninstalled the application. It was quicker for me to manually load the VST3 and DLL Speedrum Lite, load it into Live, and create my own drum notes for a "random" pattern.

The Axart website cannot be accessed anymore. This raises some suspicions.
